Points systems fail btw. It's only a measure of a person's contribution to the shell over time, not an accurate guage of who needs what gear to make the shell better. White Mages hoarding points because they have shit to spend them on and bidding Haidates for Lv 1 WARs FTW.

Now we haven't had that yet, good idea to put into next years plan.

in our LS, you can only bid 1 point on items that you cannot equip. you must be within 1 level of the gear to be able to bid more than 1 point on it. so lv1 wars cannot get haidates.

Out of all jobs who can wear it, i think DRK got the most useful use (HP setup for Souleater).

Nah, you can't do that in Karasu. You have to either be able to wear the gear or be one level under, so a WHM can't bid on Haidate. JR on the other hand didn't have any such restrictions. Just off the top of my head, Banryoku had all the BB items before his MNK was even 37. Wanna see my Aegishjalmr?

Seeing as how half the people you made fun of are actually posting making fun of themselves, this has "inside-joke" all over it.

3. Give Dalamatica to Blms.

In all fairness, I don't think any Dalmaticas went to people who have BLM exclusively. All of the ppl who have Dalmatica that have BLM also either have RDM, BRD, or SMN if I remember right.

5. Have novio/shadow ring rdm.

The RDM here didn't get either of these items through Karasu. He got the Novio through Seashell and the Shadow Ring through one of the Dynamis linkshells on Titan.

2. Have Sam with sash who's warrior sub is only lv32.

Map deliberately went unanon for that screenshot for a reason. He knew it would find its way to BG. He basically wanted to get a rise out of people, just like he did with all those Sash threads he used to make. I'm in no way defending him though. We make fun of the fact that he has a gimp WAR sub too.

The Crimson Body DRK and the Shadow Ring MNK/RNG is lootwhoreness tho.

Even still, the highest bidder still wins the gear. I see stuff happen all the time where some mage with a shelved Lv 75 melee job will bid shitpiles of his hoarded points on hot melee gear that never gets used. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about, and it happens in every end game shell on Titan.

IMO shell utility > individual e-peen

The alternative, where the event leader assigns people to lot(which is what I *think* BG does) is a better method I think, but it has its flaws too. The leadership has to be 100% impartial, and keep shell utility foremost in mind.

If people in the shell are content with loot distribution and overall everyone's happy then that's their perrogative. Is it necessarily the most optimal way to distribute gear.. no, but then again I've yet to see a loot system that works perfectly without any drama. In the end this is why a lot of people burnout or choose social LS over end game LS.

I'll be straight up honest with you, I am in endgame for two reasons.

1) Get me some gears.

2) Get the people who got me my gears gears.

In that order. It doesn't always work out that way I'm sad to say, but those are my priorities. Since I've been a member of Particle, I've gotten WAR v2 hands from Jeuno. That's it. That was months ago as well. I'm still waiting on haidates, and I will have to bid against a fucking RDM who never uses his NIN for LS events to get them, and who will probably outbid me as well. I come to events as WAR mostly, my WAR is *way* better geared than my WHM is, and therefore I bid on McRidills, E body's(which don't exist btw), and Haidates. I don't cockblock career mages just because I can. All that to say this Merona: I'm not saying the WHM with 75 WAR shouldn't be allowed to have Haidates. I'm saying that a career mage lotting rare gear for melee e-peen(lolmannequingear) is douchebaggery.

Aye, and I know of -one- DRK that would get more than just the HP benefits from the W.body (MND is a WS modifier for Scourge xD)..

Hey now...I use that in merit pts because my skill set is absolute overkill on those level mobs, and more potency on paralyze and slow is <3 <__<.
I wear my w. body around on my drk (rdm main) in town because I think it looks luvverly, and was a piece I'd wanted for a really really damn long time

If those items being complained about going to the "wrong" job were going to make or break fights, then yes, people have a point over need vs greed on this gear.

Fact is, in this game, most gear is sidegrade or situational enough that there are usually decent enough alternatives and they will not cause you to win any single fight (or lose it by the wrong person having it). Can it make your fights more efficient? Sure. Can you win without them? Yes.

So anyway, if you've got a shell that spreads the wealth around to people that participate, even if them getting items isn't the most efficient use (they still use them, as opposed to rotting on a mannequin), what exactly is the problem?
