Not my fault that LS's I join go on a decline (I SEE A PATTERN LAWL).

I've been called a lootwhore from my oldest LS (JP shell called armada) when I left them with a dalm. Machina were the only ones actually who never called me lootwhores(behind my back, although a few said it to my face but that was fine and dandy), my last LS did call me a loot whore when I left behind my back, but to my face they were friendly still. Thank goodness I had friends in that LS telling me what they were saying, the worst thing I hate in people are 2 faced cunts.

In my opinion , and my values, I never use items as leashes, but I don't hand items out to people who are blatantly using me either. For example, in my dynamis LS, when someone leaves with 2349092834 peices of AF2, I wish them luck. Seriously I don't care, because we're going to see more. Sure it sucks that the people more dedicated didn't get items, but oh well.

Even in my main LS, when we do stuff, we've never given anything to someone who doesn't deserve it, or someone who's gonna get items and never come back again. If they did get items then leave the LS, who cares? I'm not going to cry over pixels, or write a poem about King behemoth or something like that.

Anyway I'm such a loot whore I can even get items after I leave HNMLS's.

yea if someones getting a big ticket item within a month of joining, its more the LS's problem than the players problem.

It's a problem for both the LS and the player. On one hand the LS loses equipment and a body. On the other hand, the LS recognizes how that member truly feels, people part ways, and other linkshells (if you do your God damn recruitment research) will be unwilling to recruit the transient player.

In reality, however, leaders are either too overburdened or ignorant to research their recruit candidates on KI/BG/Alla/whatever before giving pearls. As such, linkshells are essentially insulated enclaves where drama and bad news stays self-contained.

Because a sky shell can kill HNM if people stay there. I see people ls hop all the time on my server and I still dont see why. Like every ls can kill the same shit so it really dont matter.

i was never a fan of shell hoppers considering i've been a long time member of my linkshell since oct of 04 and i see these people come and go and usually not all the time but usually the ones who have passed through my linkshell were drama whores.

Sorta like teenagers getting summer jobs or college students getting jobs to pay for school. Yes the LS is a stepping stone, and yes that is a derogatory way to describe a LS that does sky at the expense of "bigger"/"better" things. Of course, if a LS can do both sky and everything else, that gives that LS an advantage.

i guess the explaination i was looking for is that linkshells are so isolated from each other. since no one wants to air their dirty laundry in public (unless someone does something truely terrible/dramarific) the situations surrounding a member leaving a linkshell are rarely known to the shell that they jump into. what's obvious to someone who isnt really involved (like, gee, my friend is on their 6th bigname ls, and has left all of them within a week of getting some cool toy) is, i guess, not so obvious to the linkshells involved. i guess it only bothers me b/c i made a point of researching linkshells before i picked one, trying to make sure that i wouldnt be in the position of wanting to leave once i'd been given anything. (like, my ls was basically stuck w me forever once they gave me my damn shield, lmfao)

Let me guess, the typical linkshell hoppers write "I want to kill HNMs I never fought, I want to join events. I want to experience new things" on applications.

Isn't this game full of 'wants' though? There is no such thing as necessities.

Most of the time those people already find problems with the Linkshell, they know they hate certain people, but they still join because they'll tolerate whatever means necessary to get that item. Once the item drops and it's in their inventory all the shit they been holding back comes out. Most people have the mentality of putting up with shit to get what they want. Then they can't take IT anymore after they get it.

Pretty sad isn't it? That mmorpgs are mainly about using people or whatever they call it "online community experience". Yeah you'll find some good friends that will stick with you through thick and thin, but shit happens. Especially when they're hiding behind a computer.

Since so many people only join the LS to further their own good, the leader are usually screwed having to work to keep it together. With this logic, they figure its ok to screw others before they get screwed, hence the viscious cycle. I always saw pure "social LS" die eventually to HNM LS.

I think SE make more events like besiege where everybody gets a chance to participate without having organizations like this.

Yeah but half the server rarely shows up anymore because NOTHING DROPS.
If SE implemented certain mobs drop Ridills or 3 King Abjs. randomly, I bet that place would be packed all the time.

We just gave a Duelist's Chapeau to a guy about three weeks ago during a DL run(dropped from NM demon). Last week he logs on telling us his account got "hacked" and all his sellable stuff was gone, and he only had his R/E gear left, and he was quitting. Haven't seen him since. I was a little annoyed about that, but like Aurik says, it happens, and there will be other pimp hats to drop.

Equipment issues aside though, I agree it's a problem or at least a regular thing on Unicorn. Seems like every couple weeks someone from one of the 3 main shells goes to one of the others.
