Eh, never thought Oia was a pearlsack. Even still you mention 4 people and only half were.
Actually, you guys lost 4 A bodys, or do you not remember the first?

Its funny how you all speak of "losing" gear, without allowing for the possibility of people "earning" gear, getting the drop, and then deciding to move on to other things.
Not like it matters.

I wasn't the one who brought up the people leaving in here.
People do earn their stuff.
Lotting an Osode in their system meant you earned it. Needed a ton of points and a ton of time put in. They just didn't have anything in their system that said "if you leave and dont accumulate X more points, you gotta give it back" or whatever. Boo fucking hoo.
Nah, that doesn't happen to BG.Originally Posted by Daahan
Out people just quit for another game then sell their fully stocked characters to rival linkshells. That is so much better.
Hmm
That'll be the day, huh? For all the posting I do (which isn't really a lot comparatively) I really don't give a shit about the game anymore.

The problem with this is that a lot of gear is dependent on having the luck to get it that if someone with a rare item does quit, it's not like you can just go and get another to replace it whenever you want. And the reality is that because in most LSes you have a natural loss of members over time, it can be demoralizing if you lose a lot of the progress you made by gearing up. That being said, skill > gear anyday because gear can almost always be replaced or made up for even if you can't get the same exact item, skill cannot.Originally Posted by aurik
People like this usually jump to whichever LS's bot is getting the luckiest over the past month. The good linkshells live through it, and the person will regret it 6 months down the road.

I think its incorrect, and flat out wrong to assume all shell hoppers are bad, or loot whores. You have to know the whole story, or sit back and ask them why they left a shell, or frankly put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself, what would make YOU leave a shell.
The problem with lots of people is that they think people are there to work their ass off for a shell, and thats it. oh hell no. A shell should work its ass off just as much as teh play works his ass off. If im new to a shell, im suppsoed to do well, and show them i want to be there. But also in return the shell is suppsoed to well, and show me they want me there. And no, there is no ass kissing involved to do this. My time is just as important as anyone elses. And no, i dont expect to get the abosolute best drops when im new.
But like i said, teh shell has to impress me, JUSt as much as i have to impress them. Its a two way street. And if i feel a shell is mis treating me, passing me over for favortism, and not giving me my fair due with all the time i commit to them, i have no problem leaving. I went years without a HNM shell, and I have no problem doing it again. My time is precious, and will not be wasted. Loot is only a part of the issue.
People join HNM for LOOT, no matter how you slice and dice it, the end goal is loot. Fun is a part of it, killing stuff is a part of it, but most people dont join hnm and dedicate so many hours out teh goodness of their hearts, and at some point in time expect to be rewarded, or get help with something, when they are so active, and help everyone else.
i think what draws the line at a loot whore and someone who expects fair treatment simply comes down to time. To be short, how soon someone expects something after joining. Hey 1 month wait period is fine, but when it starts to approach the 6 month to a year timeline, and you have absolutely NOTHING from yoru shell to show for you dedicated time, its time for some reflection. Not everyone needs to get Ridils to be happy, sometimes it takes something simple liek Rostrum pumps, and Ugg pendants, or Swift belts.
It took me around 6-7 months before I finally got something from my shell (Zenith Mitts).
sucks for you. It should not take that long before you get "something" with the help of your shell. Theres plenty of things non Abj (stuff that drops so random you may never see the right one in so many kills) related you can do for your members.Originally Posted by Dezzimal

you're a clear cut example of a loot whore.
"FUCK THESE PPL WHOVE BEEN IN THE SHELL LONGER, I WAS HERE AT THIS KILL I DESERVE TO LOT ON WHATEVER JUST AS MUCH AS THOSE OTHERS HAVE"
