Ya a character who has pretty much zero storyline and is the moral center of one of the main (yet shitty) character's actions is about.... the total opposite of awesome, regardless of said clothing.

Edit: If it was a spinoff game called "Let's be unimportant" or "Let's see what other kinds of lame clothes we can wear" Then it could be about Penelo. Those sound like more of a nintendo kind of Final Fantasy games anyway.

Yeah, she didn't get a lot of story, but what do you want? She's just a normal chick, and a really well adjusted one, for an orphaned street-urchin. What's interesting about her is the adventure that she goes on. Vaan is no different. Since when did every hero have to have some sordid past? Or are you a fan of the overused amnesiac main lead who halfway through the story discovers they used to be part of the enemy?

Vaan was alot more interactive with the people (enemies and allies) in the story though as well as most of the other characters. Penelo was just... there. Don't get me wrong, almsost every final fantasy had these kinds of characters, just FFXII was the latest one and it's the one you're getting to hear about.

Yeah, but most of the time I just found myself going "god, Vaan, stfu and let Ashe/Balthier/Basch do the talking" lol.
