Superman can't do shit w/o that yellow sun roflOriginally Posted by Eaglestrike
I'm not as much of a comic-book junkie, but I thought Superman could retain his power from any star similar to the Sun because of the genetics of his being born on Krypton, which had a different type of star as a sun and force of gravity?Originally Posted by Xavier

As far as I remember Silver Surfer was endowned a very small part of the Power Cosmic. Even with the smallest part it would put him boarderline Omega Mutant level.
He is basicly the right hand of Galactus, and as such comes the power of that position.
Depends on the writer. under a Red Sun he becomes "human" instantly or loses his power over time like a battery. According to infinite crisis though, flying through the red sun depowered both superman. superboy prime was held in a red son for a while by all the flashes, and he had to make himself a suit to feed him energy.Originally Posted by Xavier
He's supposed to be one of the strongest super heros in the marvel universe if not THE strongest. I think the war you're talking about was the "infinity gauntlet" series where Thanos steals all the infinity gems and basically kicks everyone's ass. I don't remember well but I do think that Silver Surfer had a huge role in stopping him.I always thought Silver Surfer was pretty much the strongest humanoid super hero ever. Isn't/wasn't he stronger than Superman?
I have little memory of it, but wasn't there some super galactic superhero war and pretty much everyone died but SS? lol
The trailer is impressive I am somewhat disappointed in the way they did his eyes... they're supposed to be completly white, no iris or anything.
Also, Galactus isnt bigger than the planet earth; he is as tall as a sky scraper though.![]()
The first movie was campy and really dorky so I don't expect this to get as much of a generic appeal as things like X men and Spidey but god damn if they didn't do the silver surfer justice even in that one trailer. I dunno, I happen to really enjoy the fantastic four though.
Silver Surfer was incredibly powerful while he was Galactus' herald. When he left Galactus to save the earth from being eaten, Galactus took away a small bit of the power cosmic given to him, leaving him stranded on earth.
In the new Marvel Series Annihilation, Galactus takes back Silver Surfer as his herald and makes him more powerful than he ever was. It's really a good read. Kinda like a new Infinity Gauntlet story, big galactic war, a lot of outer space heroes and villains. I just hope SS and these other characters can have another shot at a starring series now that they'v been passed off to a good writer that portrays them well. When Stan Lee was writing SS stories he basically just made him into a whiny pussy that went non-stop emo about being stuck on earth.![]()
Yeah I read that Wikipedia page on Omega level mutants, but they all seemed to be from earth. I highly doubt all the top mutants would be found there.
And that was the war I was talking about, I remember the name Thanos and him having a bunch of gems he had stashed like on his knuckles in a glove. I read that series a loooooooooong time ago.
And yeah, I think they showed him pretty well in the trailer, his power is certainly over 9000.
He fking rapes the Human Torch in the trailer, rofl
I love how he hardly lays a finger on him lol... choke hold + release into space ftw!
Wonder how they'll make his cosmic power look like...
