Why do people think Ridill changes warrior, like it INSTANTLY changes them...

This fucking misconception makes ppl think that Ridill is end-be-all, and its really not. You need to gear yourself around the Ridill, otherwise it just wont work. Put Ridill in the hands of someone whos 8/8 axe, 0/4 Sword, and isnt exactly the highest caliber player, well guess what, you just wasted a ridill.


Give the Ridill to the person with most points, so long as they have WAR DRK RNG or THF lvled. Sam's and bst's have absolutely NO use for this.

So wait. It's bad to give it to a warrior, because they might not use it well. So you should just give it to people who aren't even capable of using it near its potential. That makes sense.

Guess what?

When you give a Ridill to a GOOD Warrior, it not only instantly changes the game, it outright instantly BREAKS the game. You go from the third or fourth best (if that) dd in the game to bar none the top notch. The difference between well geared Ridill war and well geared non-ridill war is probably bigger than any other even combination of items in the game, other than perhaps kraken to drk.

Uhh nynja's point is you have to gear around the ridill, giving a warrior a ridill with no sword merits / suppa etc doesn't mean they are going to be a broken WAR. We have our very own Gem on asura who uses full unicorn gear with his ridill, I xp'd with him and it was pathetic.

Ridill has a hidden latent effect: Breaks game.

LATENT effect, as in NOT ALWAYS ACTIVE. If you dont meet certain conditions to activate said latent effect, then Ridill does not break the game.

A crappy ridill WAR is still a crappy WAR. We have a few on Fairy. Last night at Fafnir, there was one, a Galka WAR who has a ridill and sword merits, that was dual-wielding axes....while wearing a Temperance torque.

Nynja is completely right on the point that Ridill doesn't make you god overnight, if you have crap gear you're still going to do crap damage regardless of how many times you swing your sword. Also the difference between axe/ridill and axe/axe really isn't as astronomical as some people make it out to be, about a 15% increase in dps on xp level stuff at most, really not something to make axe/axe WAR a significantly lower tier DD.

On the topic of priority, ridill really isn't that great on THF for stuff higher than even match, whereas on WAR it's pretty much universally useful.

I don't have any misconceptions about ridill I've seen it in action plenty and I've partied with people the day before and the day after they got em. If a good warrior gets a ridill, they instantly go from behind monks, debatably and situationally ninjas and thieves, to untouchable top notch.

A GOOD warrior will become one of the strongest characters in the game with a ridill, in their very own unique way.

Or do you not even go to aery... If you've got people that want to do what it takes to make a ridill be what it can be, by all means, help em get it.

Unfortunately, or for most of us, Fortunately, FF is a MMO that allows you to play multiple jobs.

I hear Warcraft only allows you to play one job per character, perhaps you should play that ?
