Thread: Ridill Priority     submit to reddit submit to twitter

I don't think Ridill is a weapon that automatically turns a crappy warrior into a good warrior.

I do think however that Ridill is one of the few items in the game with the biggest overall potential to increase the effectiveness of whoever wields it, given time to improve their merits, gear around it.

Its 'potential' is why it should be given to the job that has the greatest chance of realizing it. Other factors, such as baseline intelligence of the player should play a big factor, since all of the potential in the world won't do any good if the player can't realize it.

If its not recorded I don't see how it could be a points system, but it isn't a "Divine choice" option.

    its easy

    WAR

Warrior have higher sword skill of all job that can use, add sea torque, merit, supp earring and your set.

THF have like 215 sword skill so how u expect to hit something tough?

    Give to WAR,DRK, rest

As for lotting, every LS have lotting whore, LS that set rule so there friend can get item over the peoples deserve it the most so when you pick a LS you better know the rules well of you might just end up wasting your time camping HNM for getting 1 item every 10 months.

its not literally a point system, we dont keep track of things to the letter. When i think point system i think about an excel sheet or a website that points are literally counted and kept track of.

its more of a whoever the leader wants to have an item gets the item kind of system

sure that can be just as bad sometimes but i prefer this method to actual points

Imo, and that's the way my ls does it, you should just give different point value to Ridill depending on a job priority system.

For example, i think our Ridill is like 800 for WAR, 1200 for RNG THF and DRK, and like an insane amount of points for SAM or BST. Having 2 jobs who can equip it with WAR not being one of them gets you Ridill for 1000.

You might also have to rethink your whole point system around this, because this can work only if the "SAM or BST insane amount of points" requiers them to attend like 2 months of events keeping points for it. This way, if they REALLY want it, they will save and pass on far better for them and cheaper things, that's a player choice.

You also have to take care of who you invite in your LS, how they act during something like a trial period. In my opinion, it's courtesy to let someone who could get more use out of an item lot it, without having the LS leader tell you to. I remember when i wanted Novio Earring, didn't ask for lot and let it to main BLM because i play and enjoy RDM much more (even if i have BLM 75), or passed on AF2 Body BLM because i got Dalmatica when i was winning lot. If you're with mature and nice people, it will end up being all fair. I was really happy when this pearlsack then passed RDM AF2 body to me when i was losing it and he wasnt playing a lot. Well, seems like this type of people is like non existant on most endgame scene.

Edit: Oh also, never give it to someone who cant directly go MH, switch job and equip it. That's total bs. Like Septimus said, if you REALLY want an item, then level the job who got the most use of it first, otherwise go fuck yourself.

Honestly, it sounds like you want a Ridill and some other job that can use it is cockblocking you on it cuz they have more points. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is just the way it seems.
Khalil has had his ridill for a month or two now so that is not the reason for the topic.

There's a person on Sylph who has a Ridill who can only equip it on BST. (I'm sure everyone on Sylph knows who it is)

Also, last Nidhogg dropped E.Body and it went to someone who can't even wear it at the current moment. (Was a hyper -> non-hyper roadkill though at 15% with a small group and nobody there had WAR/DRK leveled, so it's ok. Just humorous.)

I didnt read anything after next page, but asking people to level war once they get ridill is retarded. Ridill wont turn you into a damage machine, you will need a ton of gears and merit to make it work. Save it for pimped War, the one who are probably in your LS for a long time and want that item for a while.

Only other real use for ridill would be a krakkenless drk, but seriously, mercurial dagger probably do the same thing in this case.

How can someone be a krakenless DRK? (If DRK is thier only job!)

    to the OP:
If you are not a points LS then whomever sucks the most dick gets it... amiright?

If you are a dkp shell, who cares, points > all or you are all weak for not keeping w/ dkp....

Edi: Logically it should go to a WAR first...

210, actually, and you'd be surprised.

I like the suggestion about the BST Ridill. Our solution to excessive bitching over certain items in our LS is to simply give it to Nystul, our resident BST.

..I mean how could you not? Just look at the critter.

    A) Dedication
    B) Competency
    C) Job
    D) How long will they continue to play

Basically reitterating the last 4 pages, but those saying "WAR onry" are off on a certain level imo. If the pool of WARs left lack A and B, why trust them with a potato gun let alone a Ridill. And for those saying "You shouldn't give it to someone merely planning on leveling WAR," chances are, if the person is not a WAR but has A and B covered exceptionally, you'll be making a prudent long-term investment by giving them the Ridill. It takes 3-6 weeks to go 1-75 WAR if the effort is there and depending on the person's schedule; I went 30-75 a long time ago in about 3.5 weeks and Im definitely not a gaijin. Tack on two more weeks to get Sword lv 8, Ber / Agg lv 5, etc and you've got yourself something Ridill worthy in most respects barring terrible gear choices (which won't happen if they have B).

D is difficult to assess, but it always induces drama in drops like Rid, D-Ring, Relics, etc. A factor to consider if it can be known.

I have WAR and RNG at 75, Id love a Ridill though, especially since the last update definitely made it feasible for RNG in some respects.

To Volcanicweather: Who is the BST on Sylph with it?

    Points >>> Job
Most (all?) endgame items are basically toys, ridill being one of them.

I'm well aware that participation, dedication comes into play but if someone doesn't have the job to equip or not even uncloked, I doubt the leaders in my LS will actually give it to em. I'm talking about the here and now.

By the logic of Points > Jobs, is a SMN has more points than a Shadow Mantle than a PLD, should the SMN get it? Or a D.Ring over Tanks that went to a WHM? You need to consider both his points and job priority for things such as these. Just wondering if someone has had a policy succeed.

Ridill isn't a toy for a warrior. It is for the other jobs.

And with a weak argument like that, why even have any job priority. If AF2 are just toys, they should all be freelot so people can have cute mannequins, right?

and if you want my justification as to why SAM or BST shouldnt get it:
    SAM:
"I want to use it for sam/rng and spam sidewinders": ok, go get a soboro.
"I want to skillup sword": /breaklinkshell
"I'm going to lvl war after I finish DRG and PUP": ok, talk to me when you start lvling war and are past lvl 60

BST: They really dont need the extra hate that the ridill would generate when soloing, and they really wouldnt get much use out of it if someone in the LS offers to gimp them in a merit party, they'd get MUCH MUCH MUCH better use out of woods/temperance.
I've actually seen a Sam use Ridill/Tatami and /war spamming Vorpral Blade and he did better then our ME/Jugger Ebody war <.<; (I didn't read the rest of this thread!)
Oh and rock on Sono for supporting Ridill rng no one ever does this and I don't see why.
