Failed response to 9/11? How? We rolling over Afghanistan right after = fail?
Bush has 0 power in Katrina. He is 1 fucking man. That is why there was FEMA, THEY failed. Plus, Louisiana has to ask for military relief, which they didn't do right away.

A failed policy in Iraq, yes, but it's not like nothing good has happened from that region. The war is also not over, for I feel we will be there for another 3-4 years or so (and would support that). Iraq may be worse off RIGHT NOW if we left, but we aren't leaving right now. We are trying to make things better there.

Bush appointed a man who was really good at arabian horse-breeding to run FEMA. Bush thought he was good at running FEMA, even after Katrina.

ninjaedit: Actually Brownie sucked at arabian horse-breeding also.

Wikipedia:Before joining the DHS/FEMA, Brown was the Judges and Stewards Commissioner for the International Arabian Horse Association, (IAHA), from 1989-2001. After numerous lawsuits were filed against the organization over disciplinary actions[10], Brown was forced to resign.[11]

You don't get to appoint sub-par horse-breeders to the head post of FEMA, then shift blame to FEMA when it delivers the expected epic fail. Not in my book anyway. I'm glad to see that shit flies with you though, everything is starting to make sense.

    ninjaeditthesecond:

Wikipedia is fun, you get to find out what Bush employees do while people are dying because of government inaction to a disaster.

Controversy arose in November of 2005 as a House committee investigating the response to Katrina released about 1,000 e-mail messages between Brown, staff and acquaintances. On the day Katrina struck, Brown jokingly wrote "Can I quit now? Can I go home?" He later quipped to a friend on September 2 that he could not meet her because he was "trapped [as FEMA head] ... please rescue me." On August 29th (the day the hurricane hit), Brown also quipped in e-mail to a co-worker, "I am a fashion god" because he shopped at North American fashion chain Nordstrom's [26]. In another e-mail, Brown's press secretary, Sharon Worthy, advised him to roll up his sleeves, "to look more hard-working." "Even the president rolled his sleeves to just below the elbow."[27] An e-mail offering critical medical equipment went unanswered for four days. [28]

Its hard to forget about the election considering it was such a load of bullshit. If it were any other state I might be more lenient with the result, but the fact his brother was the govenor of Florida at the time is way too much of a coincidence.

I bet you if Katrina was hitting Texas instead of Louisiana it would not have taken days to send aid out. Pretty clear his administration doesn't really give a shit about impoverished minorities.

Within a couple years tops of when we leave Iraq, whether it will be tomorrow or in however many years, problems will arise yet again. We are fighting a battle we simply will not win, and eventhough some progress has been made there, its futile in the long run and will bite us in the ass.

Lastly, Bush just lacks intelligence. He barely has a grasp on the english language, makes up his own words, and is a god awful public speaker. He sucked in school, a school he would NEVER had gotten into if his last name wasn't Bush, and his ineptitude is just as apparent today.

I suppose the best example of the sentiment the US feels towards its leadership at the moment is no clearer than in the approval ratings and in the ass raping the reublicans took a few months ago.

    Bring back Bill.

Ok, before i was silent on the majority of the political discussion in this thread because I don't like to be pretentious about other circumstances, in other countries halfway around the world. But, living in New Orleans I feel somewhat obligated now to comment on the subject.

Now that I'm done being nice...*ahem*. (Time to unleash the fucking fury of Caps lock)

DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE SAY THAT BUSH ACTED THE BEST HE COULD DURING THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE KATRINA. DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE MAKE ANY EXCUSE WHATSOEVER FOR HIM, NOR HIS ADMINISTRATION FOR HOW THEY HORRIBLE BOTCHED BOTH FEMA OPERATIONS AND THE RECOVERY EFFORT.

It is now more than a year after Katrina, and almost a year since bush has "redone" FEMA. I know people, yes personally (some of my best friends and classmates) that are still waiting on trailer's promised by the government 8 or more months ago to be delivered. Guess where those trailers are? Sitting 5 miles out of town waiting to receive administrative approval to be deployed (we have been waiting for about a year now.)

AFTER bush reorganized FEMA half of New Orleans is still waiting for federal aid.

But even BEFORE, it was the president's job to correctly organize FEMA. Do you not find the least bit of fucking irony in the republican party that the department of foreign affairs and overseas operation is more organized than the FUCKING FEDERAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE ORGANIZATION.

Oh and guess what. Its been almost one and a half years since the hurricane and we are still waiting for engineers appointed by YOUR FUCKING PRESIDENT-AND-SECOND-COMING-OF-JESUS-CHRIST BUSH, to fix these huge fucking holes in the GODDAMN LEVEES SURROUNDING OUR CITIES.

People like you really piss me off. Heaven forbit your sacred president should do anything wrong at all. I don't give a damn if you think we should have invaded Iraq, I don't give a damn if you think we should have the death penalty. But if you dare say your savior is unblemished and innocent from blame from the tragedy know as hurricane katrina aftermath and fema, i will hunt you down and skullfuck you.

(That last sentence was not a serious threat, im not actually yelling at anyone in particular, just venting)

the accent and stumbling in speech is fake, he used to have a new england accent(see kitty kelly's book(which is a criticism of him)) and he can debate and speak well in public, as seen in the video

about his schoolwork, he did better than kerry and on-par with gore http://www.insidepolitics.org/heard/heard32300.html ..though neither could say they're the best students, gore and bush at least could say they didnt 'suck in school'

This is one reason why im perplexed by the current administration. I know that bush is intellegent, but he asks suprisingly few amount of questions to his cabnet or other people when they brief him.

1 - kerry is an idiot too, not arguing against that.
2 - if he wasnt bush he wouldn't have gone close to ivy.
3 - as far as test scores go, considering all it would take would be one person on the inside to make a few changes in order for inflation, i dont hold them in very high esteem. and even if i did, who gives a shit about SATs? i know alot of smart people who didnt do well and a lot of dumbasses who did. i want to see bush take the GREs or something right now and see how he does, without inflation, without daddy's money paying people off, and see how he does.
4 - if he is acting half retarded to seem appear likeable to the american public, which i have heard arguments is one of the reasons some people do like him, then that is really sad that he has to go to such lengths to do so.

    he is an idiot.

way to make points backed up by nothing whatsoever other than your gut, really great job there I must admit. Btw, Bush Sr. wasn't president, or governor even, when Bush Jr. went to Yale.

And Mr. Katrina there, this is a much more complicated issue than you are giving credit. This isn't a "throw money, all is well" thing. Millions upon millions of the dollars spent by the government have been given to people that have fucked the system and were hardly effected at all. All of the stalling you are now seeing is not a product of bush and is crazy to think it is. Bureaucracies run the show 95% of the time in America, not the President, the governor, or the mayor. It all comes down to a failed system, NOT a failed leader. Again, your Bush blinders have you ONLY looking one direction, when almost all of the blame should be put elsewhere.

Also, if you think I like Bush, you are sorely mistaken. I think the guy is a failure as the president conservative america voted for 6 (wow 7 now) years ago. There are so many things this president has done wrong it makes me sick. The things are not what most liberals point out though. Sure, he is partly to blame for Katrina, as any president would be after a new system is put in place that has never been tested, but for the most part, all of your complaints are unfounded. I do have a problem with him appointed Brownie as well, but there is probably something *gasp* that the white house knows better than we do about his qualifications. In this information age, every small move is scrutinized to the point every small action causes a backlash of outrage and bullshit. In today's America, Teddy Roosevelt would be eaten alive by the public.

And if you actually, honestly think Bush delayed actions after Katrina because of a race issue, you are not very intelligent.

If you want a proper display of grammar and spelling you can refer to the post I made a couple ones above the subject of your ridicule. There you can find my grammatical skills when I truly care about making an intelligent or thought full post, rather than the one-liner that I made in quick response to someone else. Now please gb2/school/ with that grammar. This is the internet.

im not sure if you actually read the information that came back from the Polls back in 2000. (I had to because of Civics class), and Gore had won by 300 votes, but the Supreme court had determined that Bush had been the victor before the recount, and after the Supreme court had ruled Gore had conceited.

and Bush did botch the response to Katrina BADLY. He appointed the head of Fema who in turn did a terrible job responding to it. He should have appointed a person who would have done the best possible job, and not somene who was just a friend.

Nextly 9/11. After the attacks it took WEEKS before US + UN forces invaded Afganistan. Also if you look at the troop levels that the US sent into afgan. its pathetic compared to the number in Iraq. If they truly wanted to win the war on terror Afgan. is where they should be focusing their efforts and not Iraq.

overall he was a failed president. His father or Bill Clinton were much much better presidents because they actually rationalized the situation and were elected by the people, not by the supreme court due to a bad count.

I think it was determined that bush won legit, but that is only under the terms of the electoral college system. gore won the popular vote, but de facto in terms of the system set up by our founding fathers, bush won fair and square

Failed Iraqi war and has potentially caused a Civil war. The formor UN leader Kofi Annan stated in an interview that Iraq is worse off now that it was under Saddam.
Loss of majority in congress and in the senate

so what else will happen in the next 2 years?
Recount was done, Bush declared victor. The SECOND recount was shot down before it could be done. Honestly, get the fuck over that shit.
Failed response to 9/11? How? We rolling over Afghanistan right after = fail?
Bush has 0 power in Katrina. He is 1 fucking man. That is why there was FEMA, THEY failed. Plus, Louisiana has to ask for military relief, which they didn't do right away.
    Mentioning Kofi Annan is lol
A failed policy in Iraq, yes, but it's not like nothing good has happened from that region. The war is also not over, for I feel we will be there for another 3-4 years or so (and would support that). Iraq may be worse off RIGHT NOW if we left, but we aren't leaving right now. We are trying to make things better there.
And still, Kofi Annan is LOL

    Bring back Bill.
way to make points backed up by nothing whatsoever other than your gut, really great job there I must admit.

And if you actually, honestly think Bush delayed actions after Katrina because of a race issue, you are not very intelligent.

it happened during his precidency, its one him. if the opposite happened and the area was all cleaned up by now people would be praising him. it goes both ways, and he needs to accept responsibility. if it is "Bureaucracies run the show 95% of the time in America" then every president, save a few, need to be regarded as entirely neutral. lets not credit or discredit any of them ever again if they aren't worth a damn.
