We're down to just rampant murdering now, I think? The sectarian violence seems much less one-sided, albeit more rampant than in the last 10 years under Saddam's dictatorship, than it was before.

And this means we shouldn't correct an error in judgement that we had? If you make a mistake in life, you don't sit there and go "OH WELL" over it, you do your best to fix it. Saddam was a huge mistake that needed to be adressed/fixed, and we did that. Whether this will make the country better/more stable, we will see. Either way, the guy was a total douchebag that needed to be sacked. Justice was served to a very, very evil man.

As far as Iraq possibly being the wrong place to start in the war on terror, it very possibly was. Our intelligence told us Iraq was a good place to start though, and Saddam being there was a nice little bonus to it. The hatred in the middle east toward the U.S. was something which needed to be adressed eventually, or else a nuke would have eventually (or still might) go off in the United States. Instead of waiting, we decided to go on the offensive; the best defense is a good offense eh? While Iraq didn't have WMDs, which or intelligence had told they had, everyone knows they certainly had the capability of obtaining them. Without organized leadership and funding from Saddam now, one avenue of obtaining powerful weapons have been quelled. The problem now lies with what to do to the remaining nations that hate us so much they would bomb us within a second. This will be interesting, and probably the plan will not be seen until the next president takes his, or even her(please dear god not hilary), oath.

Politics is a very complicated matter, and is not nearly as simple as many of the anti-bushies seem to think it is.

Funny u should say that because i just saw something on TV about it. If Bush sr would have went into Iraq to take out Saddam, they knew the war would drag on and they'd have to clean shit up. They basically knew that the shit thats happening now today would have happened if Bush sr would have finished the job. Desert storms only goal was to liberate Kuwait.
