This sort of thing actually happened to me once as well. My best friend and I have been friends for...about 6 years now, and he thought I liked this one girl I was friends with. A few weeks later, I find out was messing around with her, AFTER he had thought I liked her. Didn't really matter though, cuz in the end ive been dating her best friend for the last 10 months :D

The "uneasyness" with my bestfriend just kinda dissipated after a while I guess. I was really mad a first, as I felt he had betrayed my friendship, but after a while it just dies down and he is still the same guy you wanna drink a few beers with.

Don't be mad at your friend for getting something you either didn't have the courage or mental clarity to go get. If it's courage, you'll have to find that on your own; nobody can help you with that. If it's because you were too drunk, you have no business getting mad at your friend cause that's your problem too. I think your priorities are slightly out of order. There are two possibilities, one is she does like you, and did it to get attention from you since you put something before her (XBL). The other of course, is she just isn't that into you (sorry to pull a Greg Behrendt), and that's why she hooked up with your buddy. So you get betrayed by a girl and your best friend since they both knew you were interested in her.

The only catch to "bros before hos" is your friend should ask you if it's ok to date/bang your exes, or your immediate family members ("Mom, how could you?!"). If it's some girl you just "like" regardless of how strongly you feel about it and what you told him, you didn't make a play for her so she's fair game. You shouldn't feel too bad about it though, I know it sucks when you get betrayed like this but you'll get over it in time.
