I didn't have to preorder a bundle. That's why I went to the little shitty EB by my house, and not the big ginormous one by work.

lol yeah, the EB by my house usually gets everything and has enough in stock... but with the Wiis I was too lazy to go there every day and check, the bundle was the easiest option.Originally Posted by Po

...well apparently so did half the city. The damn line looked like release day, and it's three months after it came out. Can I be emo now?
Fuck Nintendo for being so successfull. :( All these old people and common folk need to gtfo my video games.
I dunno if this has been posted, but, best buys will have Wiis on sunday the 21st. the one i work at is getting 69 or so.
Just Got mine at Target. I got there at 7:50, and there was already a line outside. Luckily they were giving out tickets, I got #21 of 30. Had to stay outside for 10mins and stay in a line inside for 30mins, but I'm just happy to get my Wii.
No extra nunchucks or wimotes tho.![]()
I plan to look for one at best buys and gamestops before the game today.
Go Bears!
Hope the rest of you got you're Wii's too.
Yeah, same as above more or less for me this morning. I'd like to thank everyone who was helpful and informative in this thread, namely for the Jan 21st Target tip that was about the first surfaced several weeks ago; I had a good friend who was able to get one too this morning because of it.
We got about 6 inches of snow last night, which maybe made it a bit easier with fewer people more likely to be out there. I think we got around 14 and I managed to get there 4 minutes after opening and get the 12th with one guy behind me. The last one actually made it out in the casing in the aisle, where it probably won't last an hour. (alongside 7 or so PS3s) They were out of Wii points, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (I don't think they got any at all), Wii remotes, nunchuks, and even classic controllers, but at least the hard part is out of the way.
And um, go Saints!
Went at 7am this morning and was 5th person at best buy. They had 36 units and about 15 wiimotes and nunchucks. Picked up the wii, remote, nunchuck, and wario ware.
My dad was at Walmart yesterday (lewl) and said he saw 2 boxes in the case and thought they were jsut displays, but asked the woman anyway and they were WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS. So he got me one and I gotta pay him back and all, but I HAVE one now, it's just 2 hours away~!
So if you're ever at Target, Walmart, etc., don't hesitate to ask people if the displays are ACTUAL Wiis, since the lady said they had been sitting there for quite a while!
You can all rot in hell.
I work at an airport next to a pretty redneck-ish town... and I went to the Wal Mart here and saw about 9 of them in a glass case. I'd buy them but no money until Thursday... and I already own two. :D
whats the reasoning behind owning 2?Originally Posted by Arcknight

i finally got my wii this morning, was just driving around and noticed huge lines in front of all the Best Buys and Circuit Cities easily 40-50 people in front of each store and when i drove past the EB Games there were only 2 people there so i decided to wait and ended up picking up a wii and an extra remote. they had 18 wii's and 12 wiimotes. funny thing was there was a gamestop right across the street with about 30 people in line in front of it.
Got mine today, i didn't even consider getting one until last night on a whim. My sister and roommate work at best buy, so i asked them to get me one in the morning after their meetings. I kinda figured there might be people and i didn't set my alarm (expected to just walk in at 10).
Anyway, my sister called me at 7am and i almost didn't go, but since i couldn't fall asleep i ended up heading out there and waiting in line. And btw I gotta say, one of the things i love about standing in geek lines are the conversations you overhear. Today i was subjected to xbox vs sony vs nintendo, but i guess it wasn't so bad compared to waiting for star wars or the ffxi festival.
By the time i got in, there were no more nunchuks or wii-motes, and they barely had any games left (massive pile of metal slugs though), so i had to leave zelda-lessI figured at least that game would be massively stockpiled, but i guess i was outta luck.
Funny how i said i'd never wait in line for something like this, but guess i'm now buying into the hype everyone else is![]()
yeah it was funny because quite a few people i was in line with were talking about ps3 vs. xbox360 vs. wii, most people already had the other 2 systems.
Well, I fucking hate all of you.
you dont play your 360 enough.Originally Posted by Arcknight
I waited around last night at Wal-Mart as they were bringing in pallets(?), none of them seemed to have Wiis... I walked around them when no one was looking and read what the boxes said. Nothing about "Nintendo" or "Wii" or anything remotely close. So I gave up and went home. -_- Not sure if they ever even had any.![]()
i should take a cell pic of the next empty box of Wiis I get so u know what to look for
Once you see one Nintendo boxes are definetly easy to spot, same with Sony boxes.
Got mine Sunday morning also. Funny thing is I set my alarm up to wake me up at 5:45am so I could get to Target by 6am then wait for them to hand out tickets at 7am to the people who would be allowed to buy them at 8am. Anyways my alarm didn't wake me up on time and by the time I woke up it was already 6:50am. I thought I was screwed but I just went anyways to make sure. So I drove to Target as fast I as could and by the time I got there I saw a line of about 20+ people and some Target employee handing out tickets. I pulled over to the side and parked my car hopped in the last spot of the line hoping I could still get and I was lucky enough to get ticket 26/29. :D
After that I went to get some breakfast since I still had an hour to burn before I could actually by it but it was a relief to know I don't have to go searching for the damn thing anymore. Finally, by the time they started letting people in the amount of people trying to get one atleast doubled but Target annouced to everyone there that showed up late that only people with the numbered tickets would be allowed inside to purchase a system. So there was a bunch of dissapointed kids and angry parents.
