qft, cheaper AND the original Nintendo ones are better than the crappy 3rd party cables they sell out in random stores.

Nintendo's online store should be the first place you go to for any accessories for the Wii.
Why doesn't Nintendo let Monster Cable (or is it on Monster's end?) ever make component cables for their systems? It was the same way with the Gamecube. What makes me think it's on Nintendo's end is because Monster had a composite cable and an S-video for the Gamecube, but never component. Do they worry too much people won't say exactly what you just did? For Xbox/Xbox360/PS2 (obviously not buying a PS3 at this point with its price/lack of games) I've preferred theirs, not to mention I get them cheap. >.>

It's always better to buy the original stuff either way.

Well, I get staff discount at where I work, so it's cheaper to buy them from there, but the packaging/cables look really shitty. I guess component is component.

Nintendo store IS cheap, but then they nail you on the $20 shipping fee.

    I got these

    http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Wii-C...oductDetail.do

bought them at Best Buy actually, but I can't find them on bestbuy.com, there every bit as thick as my Monster Cable X-box component, so if your into having top of the line hookups these are where it's at.

I personally went for the Madcatz since I heard this cable is a replica of Nintendo's own.

Shouldnt cost that much to send to the US... around 39 dollars including shipping I would expect.

I have to say... I am surprised Dvdboxoffice.com still hasnt begun stocking theres.

You guys know the ones Nintendo makes are 30 dollars which I got.. I placed my order and got them in about 2 weeks.. which is fine for me since they are cheapest and also the most reliable I'd say since they are first party.

Also, since this has also turned into a Zelda: TP discussion thread, I wanted to share my experience from last night.
Now I know I am a little late, since I have been playing this game sporadically (Damn you Gears ) but I finally got back to Link human form after the third set of tear collecting. I was supposed to go to Hyrule Town, but I found myself just running through Hyrule Field for a good hour last night just admiring how awe inspiring and epic this adaptation of Hyrule is. Has anyone else done this? If not, you really should. I am sorry if this is redundant, but I just felt it needed to be said. Just running through the field while the sun comes up, and the daytime music just hits you in the face. Just wanted to share this, and wondered if anyone else had done this too.

I think it really caught me when I had to jump off the bridge as wolf form. I was like "So what, a measly bridge", then I saw how far down it was...then you dive under the lake and see that you actually have to look around for the way into the temple because the lakebed is huge... how Hyrule Castle has a huge courtyard and roof that almost seem like little dungeons of their own...being forced to walk the Castle Town streets as a wolf when Midna is sick and the townspeople run away sceaming...and of course, another epic Ganon fight...so many things that I think about that *really* made me glad I waited in line for it. Sure, other people got to play it a month later on the Cube, but oh, how they spent that month writhing in envy...that was a good month for me. 8)

stupid question...when people are talking about buying different cables for the Wii, are they only for hooking it up to a HDTV?

Component cables let you play the Wii games @ 480p widescreen, instead of 480i... it makes a big difference if you have a big screen HDTV, because the regular composite cables make the games look like crap.

Oh and Po, as far as that Hyrule field thing is concerned, I know what you're talking about... I was in the middle of Poe hunting (no pun intended ), and I was waiting for a Poe to spawn so I could collect it... this Poe was located on a high platform in a random spot in the Hyrule field, and this was right after I hooked up the component cables... all of a sudden you see the sun set, and it was just amazing.

Like I had already stated, this game has tramendous graphics, especially for a GCN game, and I can't wait until a true Wii original Zelda comes out so we can experience Zelda in real "hi-def", as high as the Wii allows it to be anyways.

As far as the game, I personally loved everything that happens after lakebed temple (to sick midna, to visiting the castle, to going to the desert and having the mirror plot twist)... I thought it was very well done. And of course, who can forget the absolutely awesome epic fights with Ganon at the end of the game (I certainly did not expect 4 fights, which was just amazing in my opinion.)

All in all, best game i've played in a long time.

The cables the Wii comes with only support up to 480i resolution, while buying the component cables will allow you to play in 480p.

Supposedly the difference between the two is significant enough to merit buying the games.

    Edit: Beaten to the punch.

If you have an HDTV then pay the $30 and get the offical nintendo component cables. It does improve the graphics some but its nothing to scream about remember 480i and 480p are the same resolution. But in my opinion the graphic improve doesn't not warrent paying $60 for the thrid party brand, they are just trying to rape you :D

Exactly, and that's besides the point that Nintendo's online store has them in stock now and you will get them within a few days... (I got mine after 3, regular ground shipment.)

Also, it does improve it a lot if you have an HDTV because it sharpens the image (I still need to lower the sharpness on my TV to a -3 in order to see the best image, anything higher looks snow-blurry and anything lower looks even blurrier.) If you use regular composite cables on an HDTV, everything is blurry no matter what you do to your TV's settings, the components just clear the picture up and make it crisper... you definitely want it if you have an HDTV just so you can see the damn thing, but you're right it's nothing to scream about.

Nothing to scream about maybe, but it is definitely worth mentioning. Especially if you are playing Zelda, the differences are so noticeable.. I know we are beating a dead horse, but definitely get them.
How is the Lakebed Temple? I just got my Zora Clothes, which look pretty freakin' cool, not just a blue shirt like I was expecting.
Anyway how is the Temple? Is it as annoying as the Water Temple? I really want to get past it, but I'm dreading it lol.

If you're not using a guide you'll be thinking for a little bit, but it's definitely not as annoying as the Water Temple in ocarina....

Basically you have a huge staircase in the main room, and you gotta use different switches to keep turning it around to reach all the rooms in the dungeon... and the big key is kind of hidden as well, but if you get the compass you'll know how to get to it. (it's in an underwater tunnel, kind of hidden but not too difficult to figure it out.)

All in all, it took me a good 2-3 hours, longest i've spent on any dungeon in TP... but it's definitely fun.

    It was kinda long, and possibly as annoying as the water temple from OoT, depending on how bad you thought it was in OoT. The Puzzles aren't impossible, just take your time and you will figure it out. The boss is fun though. >.>;

Very fun lol... probably my 3rd favorite after the Beast Ganon fight and the fight with Zant.
