Sears has it in stock again, tried it 2 minutes ago. Not sure how long it's been up, but if you hurry you should be able to get one.

lol so Sears.com is essentially working like ticketmaster. oh well, seeing as how im more or less broke (being back in school sucks) and my folks are alledgedly getting me one for my bday, i dont see any reason to spam it all day besides the entertainment?Originally Posted by Exoduso
Sears is trying to come back. lol they won't. They need to accept no one has shopped there since 1991.
Well I'm not going to tell you that Toys R Us has it in their ad, which means that I won't tell you that they'll have some in stock tomorrow, and I won't suggest you get there at opening.
they open at 11am, plenty of time for sleep <3
You'll probably have to get there earlier if you want to get one lol.
So, did anyone actually find one this morning?
I went into the best buy around 1pm on friday and right as I walked in they were unloading about 16 units out of boxes in the middle of the store. Everyone was caught off guard and there was a mad rush to grab them. There were actually 4 left over after the rush when I was leaving the store it was funny.
And all these people got on their phones and were calling friends saying "dude there are wii's in stock want me to pick one up for you?"
Both my replacement remote and the two remotes/nunchuks that I ordered off the website came in two days ago. I cannot get over the excellent customer service that Nintendo has... A++++++ WILL BUY FROM AGAIN.
You've obviously dealt with Square Enix too much.
hey thats original.Originally Posted by Flarega

Since everyone does mailorders through Square-Enix these days.
Its no conspiracy SE has poor customer service in regards to their GM service.
But this is a little different scenario..
Once there are enough wii's out there that they are not selling out in 5 minutes do you guys think it will be as popular or is some of its popularity due to hipe and the fact that you cannot find it?
I was reading an article where they interviewed someone looking for a wii and they said the only reason they were buying a wii instead of a ps3 is that they could find ps3's easy in the store and they could not find a wii. I know its a really stupid reason to buy a system but I wonder how many people out there are buying the system for the same reason.

I love my Wii, and I love what will be out for it this year (there's a lot, Super Paper Mario and SSBB prolly will be the soonest must-haves for me), but I don't quite understand why there is *this* much of a demand for them. I orginally bought it just for Zelda, which is on the Gamecube too now, and there's a few other fun games (like WarioWare) and the VC, but I really never expected them to still be selling out to this day...unless the "widespread appeal on non-gamers" market was greatly, greatly underestimated. You can have fun with the system now, of course, but I expected a scramble like this *after* some exclusive franchise titles like Mario and Smash Bros and Metroid, not before...
Hype is a really curious thing, this hype is a bit different from other systems in that most of the hype didn't start til after it hit the market (back then PS3 had more hype), and I'm sure the lower price helps, but who really knows when it will wear? At this rate it could last up right until some more desired exclusive title come out in the spring/summer, and then it will probably start up all over again. I'm still a bit surprised at the DS Lite, when I bought old grey brick-style DS, it was considered the underdog...
And it's not just the Wii, either. The DS Lite is still constantly sold out in my area. Even now, in Japan it still sells out all the time... it's amazing. There's never been this kind of sustained demand for systems before, and it's not like Nintendo is purposefully shorting production or anything; any business that has a hot product is going to do all they can to make more supply.
Nintendo isn't shipping enough DS's, that's why there's such a shortage...their shipments have been extremely short since xmas. I've been trying to get my hands on one myself, but it seems impossible to find an Onyx in my area.
