Wii availability

My Brother has a white DS Lite but he's a nazi about letting me play FF3 on it.

And FF is one of the only reasons I want to pick it up heh. (cus I can just buy the Advance remakes of the FF games and play them on it as well, right?)

I've literally been to about 10 stores and no one had it... I keep calling stores, but no one has the Onyx DS.

Wow, I didn't know there was a DS shortage as well... I had trouble finding Onyx like 5 months ago when I wanted one so I gave up and stuck with my old bulky one because I didn't want iPod white or vagina pink. Got an Onyx from my dad for Christmas, but knowing him, he probably got it off eBay like everything else he owns. Is it just me, or are the LCDs on the DS Lite significantly brighter than the original DS or is my old one just... old?

Also, is there any compatibility or reason for compatibility between the DS and the Wii yet? A wireless DS/Wii Crystal Chronicles sounds like fun beyond words. If I ever get my hands on a Wii... a Nintendo Wii.[/quote:75633]

The new Pokemon game coming out for Wii is controled with your DS itself. Pokemon Pearl/Diamond will be able to be played on the Wii where you can battle with your Pokemon with other people online (same on the DS, but much cooler on a Wii). Its kind of like Pokemon Stateum for the Gamecube, only cooler. Well thats Pokemon, i'm not sure of anything else announced yet. ;l

I'm sure it'll work like the Gameboy/Gamecube connection eventually, once some games that need it will actually come out. (Didn't Zelda: Wind Waker use the DS to download the game's dungeons? might've been SP, but still.)

Yeah it was connected via the connecter cable. Wii detects the DS like a WiiMote.

Stole the marketplace idea from MS, stole the motion sensing from Nintendo, and stole the Controller design ..... from themselves, cus they suck and are too lazy to come up with a new design for a freakin' controller. (even though I thought the boomerang-type controller that they originally were going to use looked pretty sick, how come they dropped back to the normal Dual Shock 2 look?)

Because after it was unveiled there was a firestorm of bitching about how it looked, people thought it'd be hard to use, etc and wanted a variation of the dual shock...so they went back to the old design. Or something along that line.

That might not be the case. I know on the recall site it lists two different types of wrist straps, the original one, and the second, much thicker one. The site said to see which one you had before ordering a replacement, so I would assume that means that Nintendo caught on pretty fast and there were already fixes out before the recall.

But it looks exactly like the PS2 controller, without a wire, and a dumb PS symbol on it (and they stole THAT idea from MS too..) to replace the red bar.

something about that really bugs me. you'd think for the money sony is making people pony up for their system, they'd make sure it has adequate cooling so you dont need to buy an accessory lol
