    Everyone is showing it as pronounced as "Bo-Do", but wouldn't the "Bea" need to be "Beao" to be pronounced as such? "Bea" is just "Bee". Much like "Beau" from "Beautiful" is pronounced "Byu".

    The linguistic pattern being that you pronounce the B, silent "ea", and pronounce the following vowel.

    Beau = Byu (Beautiful)
    Bea = Bee (Beads)
    Beao = Boh (N/A)

    The English language doesn't use the spelling of "Beao" to show the pronounciation of "Boh". Instead, it uses "Beau" and pronounces it as "Boh". So "Beau" in English is pronounced as both "Byu" and "Boh" depending on the word.

    Is "Bea" really pronounced as "Beau" in French?

    As for the rest:

    Xarcabard = Zar - Ka - Bard

    Byakko = Bya - Kko

    Bya is known as a glide. Cha, Chu, Cho. Bya, Byu, Byo.

    Kko uses a "glottal stop", glottal being the back of your tongue against the back of your throat. You do this when you say "ga" or "ko". For the stop, you begin to pronounce it, pause very briefly mid pronounciation, and then continue. Similar to dental stops like "putting", the stop is on the double-t.

    Pso'Xja = So - Ja (the J sounding like a mix of Z and J)

    Uggalepih = Oog - gah - leh - peh

    Beau, the French word meaning beautiful, is not pronounced "Byu" like the "beau" at the start of the english word "beautiful".

    Beaudeux is clearly a French word and the beau is pronounced more like "Bow" as in bow and arrow.

    It's more like bew.

    It's Beaudreaux without the r, which is also seen, and pronounced the same, as Boudreax.

    And you're right. I always confuse the spelling with Beaucedine. Beadeux is still French I believe, and I think it would be pronounced with the A being silent like bed-oh.

    I didn't read any of the middle pages yet, but how do you guys say Qiqirn?

    I say it like Chichirn

    [edit] found this
    kick-eern (Qiqirn) (Sometimes "kee-kee-urn".)
    the reasoning for the way I say it is because when I see Qi I think of the chinese way of pronouncing it.

    Qi, as in "R"odent
    qi, as in "A"ctually a rodent
    rn, as in "T"otally a rodent.

    Pronounced "RAT."

    I can say Japanese doesn't have it. If there's any exception, it's the "ga" that sounds like "nga" (it doesn't wrong if you don't make it sounds "nga" either) and silent vocal "u" in "su".

    There's also the regional dialects and habits of Japan.
    iirc, in the Tokyo area, it's common to add a soft s sound at the beginning of an initial "hi"

    If you listen closely to the Japanese language audio Escaflowne movie, Hitomi keeps getting called sHitomi. Sounds similar to how Shitow is pronounced in the english version of Raxephon.

    So yeah, Darus is right. Hell, this even happens Esperanto and Lojban, and they are meant to be unambiguous languages.

    Anyone else feel they pronounce words worse after reading this thread? Some of the pronunciations people come up with don't even make sense, haha.
