Who Would Win: Batman v. Superman

I've never understood why people even like Superman. In my opinion, he is incredibly incredibly lame. HEY let's give him every single super power EVER and see what happens! Boooooooooring.

Because there are many people in the DC universe who are as strong if not stronger than Superman. The short list from as strong as Superman to way stronger: Lobo, Martian Manhunter, any Daximite under the yellow sun, Darkseid, the Spectre.

This is kind of a late reply to Septimus's post since I was at work and I was going back and reading the thread but... Lobo?

I agree with all the others but Lobo doesn't really come across to me as someone who could win against Superman, if anything I see them fighting to a draw, since as long as Kryponite isn't involved they are both effectively unkillable.

Idk maybe I'm just confused from that whole Marvel vs. DC crossover a few years ago where Wolverine kicked the shit out of him, even if the results were determined by a fan vote.

Also I don't know if you would include in that list since he is still technically Superman, but Superboy Prime (Which I'm sure we'll see this whenever he breaks out of the Prison the Green Lanterns have him in) could definitely own Superman in a straight fight.

In the one Image did I guess you could say it was a split decision. Spawn won the first fight between them by "cheating" (using his Magic) but the aftereffects of the crossover were apparent for quite a while in the main Spawn comic book after Batman buried a Batarang in the middle of Spawn's face.

I like Batman, by all means, he's a badass. I always viewed Batman's world of Gotham City to be in a whole different realm than any more typical super hero (superman/spiderman/x-men) though I'm aware there were many a crossover and their worlds did eventually mesh. Batman along with his villains were all people with different themes and methods but never really any cliche` mutant abilities that didn't require the aid of some type of gadget(s).

Batman's entire world is so... Dick Tracy or Sin City esque. He's more of just a crime fighter in essence than a "superhero" in my eyes. No one really has any real unique abilities(mostly martial arts/acrobatics), they only contain unique psychotic obsessions that determine their homes, costumes, and method of crime. While, according to the facts, Batman is prepared and able to take out Superman should the need arise, I still think it was stupid to pose The Dark Knight against the iconic hero who is an alien with just about every generic super power there is.

This is actually a really fun post to read. As someone with no knowledge regarding either of these two other than their two latest movies, I'm totally enjoying it.

It seems like there is a really in depth background on both, and everyone keeps bringing a little more to the table. Where did you all get your info/facts n' shit? Just read tons and tons of comics? How would a noob like me catch up?

Wikipedia could give you alot of info about him I guess, it covers the bases on most of the really important storylines (Death of Superman/Reign of the Supermen, etc). At least in terms of the current "version" of Superman, Infinity Crisis and the "Up Up and Away" storyline both deal with the idea of "What it means to be Superman" quite a bit. If you aren't up on DC comics Infinity Crisis can be confusing as hell, but "Up Up and Away" is the best example of who and what Superman is from the last few years.

I personally would make like Zeus and strike them down with a lightning bolt. That's why it's so hard to take this debate seriously, even if canon supports Batman. In any conceivable scenario excluding a perfect ambush by batman, Superman should always win assuming he's not mentally retarded.

Let's get back to the more interesting argument: what would happen if Juggarnaut and the Blob ran into each other. The Unstoppable force versus the immovable object. 2 possible scenarios...the first would be the Blob would stop the Juggarnaut completely and Juggy would send the Blob flying, effectively swapping their 2 properties (Juggy now immovable object, Blob unstoppable force)...the second is the Blob acts as a pinball bumber that sends Juggy flying off in a different direction without actually stopping his movement, allowing each to keep their respective properies.

Go see the Batman and Superman fight in the Hush storyline, he gets caught pretty much completely offguard at having to fight Superman and still comes out on top. Batman carries his Kryptonite Ring on him literally 24/7 out of the chance that he may have to deal with Superman.

Batman knows how Superman thinks, moves, everything. As slusher said, he's basically always prepared for the time that he might have to take Superman down.
