He works just fine as a villain, as for your comment about martian manhunter. I seem to recal supergirl kicking his ass rather easily, as well as, flash, green lantern, and a few other people... in the same comic.Originally Posted by Septimus

I think most people (even writers) really don't know how strong Martians are. If you remember the first first story arch of Grant Morrison's JLA the white Martians were as strong and invulnerable as Superman, comparably fast as the Flash, and have "Martian Vision" which is like heat vision along with their shape shifting, phasing, and telepathic powers. As far as I know, Green Martians are the same as White Martians in terms of power. The main difference is that the White Martians are violent and war-like, whereas the Green Martians are peaceful scholarly. There is no reason that anyone on that list should clock J'onn easily other than exploiting his weakness (fire) or he throws the fight. (They might win, but it wouldn't be easy.)Originally Posted by Demosthenes

Classic superdickery right above.
Not as good as some of the old panels at http://www.superdickery.com/

The fights between them are rigged. The story would suck if something didn;t happen to make Superman a pussy in every fight. If Superman went insane and decided to kill everyone and had to go through Batman to do it, Batman would die.
Seriously, every fight they had Superman was weakened to a point he wasn't the God he supposedly is.
Superman could drop a truck on Batman, throw a Metoer at him, hurl him into space or just push the earth out of Orbit and send it into the Sun.
Fact is, he won't do that cause he's a nice guy.
btw, Lobo fckin rocks. I love him. He would kick both their asses at the same time. Fraggin' everyone.
I love the way you all talk about Batman and such, and his constant readiness for the need to "take out" Superman. Also the way you talk about it in present tense leads me to suspect the DC Comics are still being made and the storyline is a global one continuing to this day? That's a pretty kewl concept if it's true. That the story is ongoing and things like: somebody mentioned before "Superboy Prime being trapped in a prison by the Green Lanterns", are all actively taking place while others thigns are taking place.
Can you read comics online or something? I wanna like just start reading them from like maybe a month ago up until now and then further on and see what it's like XD.
But the point is that those fights were rigged, and Batman is the one who rigged them.Originally Posted by Judai
When Superman was being telepathically controlled by the inexplicably villainous (and suddenly competent) Maxwell Lord he beat the living crap out of Batman because he was out of control. In terms of power there are not many beings in the DC Universe who top Superman, but it is not about power. If Superman had half a brain he would have used a cement mixer like a baseball bat to knock Doomsday into space instead of brawling with someone who was his equal in strength- sure, he has a lot of power, but he is not very creative in its uses.
He wouldn't drop a truck, throw a meteor, or hurl anyone into space partially because he is too nice to do it, but also because he is too much of a doofus to think up tactics like those. (And he couldn't push the planet, at least he couldn't after the first Crisis, not sure about now.)

Despite the name it does contain scans of the Bat and the Super.
Goku would beat Superman.
Only if Superman sat around and watched Goku power up for 5 episodes.Originally Posted by Maguspk

I don't blame him. Kyle is the earth lantern I like the least. Heck I'm not even mildly interested in him.Originally Posted by Septimus

what does kyle have? zip.
Really, what's so great about Hal, besides the fact that he came second? (Allan Scott is the OGGL.) Superman's home planet died, Batman's parents were murdered, Wonder Woman was the chosen champion of the Amazons. What is Hal's motivation to be a super hero? He was in the right place at the right time to get a ring. He was "without fear".Originally Posted by Demosthenes
Yes, Kyle was in the right place at the right time too, but the ring changed him. His fiancée was was murdered because of the ring, his life was turned upside down. He wasn't without fear, but he earned the right to wear his ring. He put up with being the new kid for many years, even when people wanted him to fail he persevered.
Hal = cardboard cut-out
Guy = awesome and annoying at the same time
John = stock character with no personality
Kyle at least has a reason to wear the ring, or now wield the battery and the starheart.

And somehow manages to stay boring.
Guy Gardner is definitely the best Green Lantern.
I think alot more people would have been receptive to Rayner if it wasn't for the horrible way he was introduced (in the middle of the whole Parallax thing) and basically just shoved into the face of readers after they had been reading Hal for years.
Kyle is my favorite.
