I dont understand why anyone thinks the eagles dont have a chance. Both teams were 10-6, i think most people think the saints were 14-2 or something. When they last played the eagles offense either scored n 3 plays or went 3 and out. That absolutly wore out the eagles defense from being on the field for way too long. With Garcia at quarterback, the eagles actually run the ball and can put up 10-15 play drives for a touchdown.

The eagles will be able to move the ball methodically on the saints and control the clock. I see the saints only having a chance if they get alot of big plays. Once you get into the redzone against the eagles you're most likely just gonna get a fieldgoal the way the defense is playing.

And the eagles have Brian Westbrook, who right now is even more uncontainable than L.T.

    31-17 Eagles

More uncontainable than LT? I dunno. Westbrook has been a huge impact with running and catching the ball, but they have other receivers too. The Chargers have Gates and a couple average receivers, but LT can not only pass/run/catch.. but play as a bigtime decoy to get Gates open. I dunno about just as uncontrollable, but both are definitely stars to their team.

I wouldn't say the Eagles have no chance of winning, it's just more likely that the Saints will win imo. I'm an Eagles fan so I'll be rooting for them anyway, just more realistic to expect the home team with a bye to win. In the first game it came down to a field goal with no time left for the Saints to win though, and the Saints also got spotted 7 points when the Eagles fumbled a punt with like a minute left before the first half ended, orz.

Another thing about the first Eagles-Saints game was the Eagles could not generate a pass rush at all, I'm pretty sure they never sacked Brees. Saints kept Bush and McCallister in the backfield all day to help max protect, so neither of them had good days but it gave Brees all the time in the world to pick the Eagles apart. If the Eagles are going to win saturday they'll need to create pressure, it's the only way their defense can hold them off, especially with Lito out.

Picking the Saints to win, but rooting for the Eagles. Other games picking Balt/SD/Chi. I know it's kinda lame to pick nothing but home teams, but home teams do well after byes in the playoffs.

hay, remember that time the giants were def gonna beat the eagles?

You just hate Garcia because you said he is shit then he came out and beat your team
Garcia didnt come out and beat anyone. Westbrook did. And never said the Giants were "def going to win". You would have quoted it if i did.
I just said the game was up in the air.

Does this somehow not make sense to you? The eagles are better with mcnabb, just because theyre playing the best they have all year != theyre a better team without him.

Explain to me how me saying the eagles are playing well equates to them all of a sudden being a better team with a backup QB?

lol...you said they're playing "the best they have all year". McNabb was in earlier this year. He is not in now. How does this not mean they are playing better now (with Garcia) then they were before (with McNabb)?

If the Eagles are playing better now then they were before, like you said, how could they be a better team earlier this season (with McNabb)?

I'm not sure how else I could rephrase the question to make you understand that you contradicted yourself.

Hate to rain on your parade, but the statement is correct. Philli is playing absolutey lights out right now, but they sure as hell aren't a better team with garcia...give me a fucking break. RESEARCH OMG:

In the 9 games mcnabb played in this season, he threw for over 300 yards in 4 of them (5 really, 298 in another)...he threw for 250+ in 7 (8 kinda, 247 in 1). In 5 full games, garcia has had 1 great passing game for 300+ yards. the other 4 were less than 250 yards.

The games he (Mcnabb) lost were

NYG (in overtime). Not mcnabb's fault, it was a pedestrian defensive perfomance by philli. lolmanning threw for almost 400 yards.

@Nawlins. Great team, lost by a total of 3.

@Tampa. There was no spread, and lost by 2.

Jaxsonville. Lost by 7. Only really bad performance on both sides of the ball all season.

So they lost 4 games with mcnabb, but all were within a touchdown. Philli has played extremely consistant all season long, and aside from tampa, they weren't losing to bad teams. They only played 1 absolutely dreadful game and that was against JAX.

Garcia comes in and drops the game where mcnabb got hurt...noone's fault. Next week he loses to indi. A great team. He then goes on to beat carolina (who wasn't that great), Reskins (not that great), NYG (during a freefall point of their season), Dallas (who were playing poorly), and Atlanta (anything need to be said here). So all season long, philli only lost 2 games that they shouldn't have lost, and in one of those, mcnabb got injured. Let's not kid ourself and pretend that mcnabb was playing like shit and garcia is all-mighty...garcia is making a case for himself against strugglin teams.

You're comparing Garcia and McNabb again, which I wasn't doing. I never said that Garcia was any better than McNabb. I said the team is playing better now with Garcia than they were with McNabb, and that's true. The defense is showing up, they're running better and more often. Andy even handed over offensive playcalling duties. I believe this is all as a result of McNabb getting hurt. He went out and the rest of the team elevated their play.

As for the losses...the first Giants game I actually do put on McNabb just as much as the defense. True the defense was playing terribly the second half, but McNabb didn't put together anything resembling a drive in most of the 3rd and 4th quarter. I specifically remember him fucking around with some Giants defenders on a play and causing a false start. He got too comfortable with the lead too.

Tampa McNabb threw 2 pick 6s, that loss was definitely his fault. Tampa didn't move the ball at all that entire game.

And his statement is not anywhere near correct because they're 2 opposite things. There is no way the team could be better earlier this season when they're playing "the best they have been all season" are right now. It makes no sense.

The team is beteter off with mcnabb, sorry, he's a better QB. Just because his team plays 90% when he's on the field and 110% when a second stringer is on the field isn't something that you can put on him. Maybe it's leadership qualities (very well could be the case stemming from the T.O. incident), but there's no way in hell that garcia has better leadership qualities. Anywho, like i said, Garcia is playing well against teams that have struggled at the end of the season (or all season), and not even playing anything resembling greatness. Only 1 300+ yard passing game. People were actually trying to justify mcnabb having to fight for his starting job next season...laugh out fucking loud. How old is garcia, that dude has a receding hairline, he has to be pushing 40...Mcnabb is like what, 31? McNabb is a better QB, The eagles are a better team with Mcnabb, Mcnabb has more longevity, Mcnabb threw for more yards against teams that were playing better. So, Garcia has only won 1 game where he's passed over 30 times...other time he threw almost fourty against indi and got trounced. So Reid, who is a coaching demi-god, decided to take the game out of Garcia's hands and have him throw about 25 times a game...surprise, they win. They have a great backfield, they should.

I think you're arguing for a point that I'm not disputing. Keep in mind I'm not the people who you're calling out for saying McNabb should have to play for his starting position. Would I rather have McNabb in over Gacria? Yes, but that's impossible right now because McNabb is injured. But at the same time, I'm kinda glad he got injured because the rest of the team is playing like the Super Bowl team they were. It also got Reid to change his pass pass pass pass pass occasionally run plan. If McNabb hadn't gotten injured I'm not sure if they would be in the playoffs right now because the changes that needed to be made wouldn't have occurred. Reid is an amazing coach and I'd rather have him than basically anyone else out there right now, but he's not such a great gameday coach as he is a preperation coach.

Now if McNabb comes back next year and the defense keeps playing up to par and Reid lets the offensive coordinator keep calling the plays that would be perfect.

So I'm sticking with my point that right now, the Eagles are a better team with Garcia then they were earlier in the season with McNabb.

I guess maybe my arguemnt is that they arent a better "team". Maybe the playcalling is better, and the game planning is more conservative, but being a "better team", id have to disagree.

You're not getting what im saying. Me saying the Eagles are paying well NOW campared to before doesnt have anything to do with how good of a team they are. If the Browns played well enough to win 5 straight does that all of a sudden make them a good team? No. Because they can turn around and lose 5 straight like they normally do.

Normally, as Garcia has proven in Detroit and Cleveland; hes bcome nothing but a subpar QB. How can the Eagles be better overall with a mediocre at best QB, compared to a potential hall of famer in his prime?

The Eagles playing better now has a lot to do with Westbrook, the Defense, and their playcalling. Matter of fact, those are probably the 3 MAIN reasons why they've been doing so well. Garcia isnt saving anything. So when Mcnabb comes back, (and the playcalling stays the way it is now) then the eagles will be even BETTER.

    Make sense now?

How much did you end up paying? I paid $600 total for a pair of NFC Championship Game tickets (in Seattle) last year.

    I only paid $95.

When they renovated Soldier Field a few years ago, they allowed people to purchase the license to seats. My best friend's grandma purchased the license for two seats, so it's me and my friend going, and the grandma offered me the ticket for 95.
