Gah, i typed all this out yesterday and lost the post apparently. Anyway:

NE vs San Diego...I think Chargers win this game...handily. People are trying to overhyper the patriots this year from their success in past years. This is ironic, beings that when they were a HELL of a lot better 2 and 3 years ago, noone was giving them any respect. Chargers by 10+

Indi vs Baltimore...Indi is the football's version of the St Louis Cardinals. In past years, everyone expected them to do very well only to fall short. Ths year, noone expects them to get very far at all. No pressure. I honestly, would not be surprised if they end up in the superbowl. I wouldn't pick them, but i wouldnt be surprised either. I think Manning and the offensive line wins this game. Only going to take about 20+ points to win it.

Philli vs Nawlins...This game has some interesting storylines. On one had, you have a philli team who have all been there. A pro-bowl QB who has played in the playoffs before. A vetern core of players who have been in post-season play, and a seasoned coach. On the other side of the field, you have a team that hasn't made the playoffs in like, forever. A team that is flourishing with their newly aquired talent. Rookie coach, re-invented quarterback, 2 of the best offensive rookies in the nation, and a rookie that starts on defense. It's like the two attorneys, one that's been in law practice for 40 years against the hot new brilliant attorney that just graduated law school a year ago. Will be an incredible game, however, i just cannot envision nawlins losing a playoff game at the superdome. The atmosphere will be incredible, and maybe overwhelming. I've always thought that home field was overrated, but not in this case, and not in this city.

Lastly...Seattle vs Chicago. Lets look back at the beginning of the season. Seattle had 3 starters missing off the offensive line, no sean alexander, and the bears were playing HOT. Now, the script is totally flipped. Seattle has alexander, hassleback, and most of their offense back in full swing. The bears defense is all torn up, injuries everywhere, and have played like shit against pedestrian offense last few weeks of season. Seattle, however, do have their share of injuries. They literally had to call 3 guys who haven't played football at all this season to come in and play in the secondary...the same guys who held owens to three catches last week. Now they're facing...Grossman. I'm taking seattle for the upset in this one.

The eagles are not the same team that the saints played earlier this season. 60% pass plays down to 50-50 pass-run now, and I think Garcia will lead them better than McNabb will. Remember, last time they played it was a loss by 3 pts, mostly because philly couldn't run the clock down during its drives.

Didn't you get Rush Limbaugh's memo? McNabb is overrated because he's black.

My dad is a huge Rush fan and I absolutely despise the man, so this gave me a good laugh.

Hasselbeck played in the game against the Bears earlier in the season.

Has anyone ever picked the patriots to win a playoff game ever? Everyone always talks about how over-rated they are and then they go and win football games. As long as they have bilicek and brady, game on bitches, game on

And any time the Patriots coach gets upset, gets his sweater in a bunch and pushes camera guys, I will continue to laugh.

I actually kinda agree with it, but in an odd kind of way. I think that because McNabb is out, the rest of the team has really stepped up and elevated their play instead of seemingly putting it on McNabbs shoulders like they had done in the past. The defense is playing better all while missing a bunch of starters (instead of playing down and expecting McNabb to lead a last minute drive to win the game), the offense has to rely more on the running game, and basically everyone is playing better.

Garcia isn't a better QB than McNabb, but the Eagles are a better team with Garcia at the helm than they were when McNabb was there.

Whoa. whoa whoaa. The eagles won 6 straight with Garcia.

Compared to 3 NFC titles games and a superbowl appearance with Mcnabb.

All these Garcia riders need to calm down and shutup. lol

The Eagles aren't a better team with Garcia, just the offensive playcalling has been better/more balanced with Garcia.

It'll be interesting to see how the offense is called when he comes back.

Read what I said again...I didn't say Garcia was a better QB than McNabb, I said the opposite actually. But I also said the Eagles are playing better now with Garcia than they were earlier this season with McNabb.

And the team that went to 3 NFC championship games and made a super bowl appearance isn't the team that's there today. The defense was/is playing 10x worse than those teams.

And the team u have now isnt going to an NFC title match, muchless the superbowl for that matter. So whats your point? The eagles are better with Mcnabb. (thats mine.)

I'm a Philly fan, live 20 minutes from the city, and I really don't think they have a chance to beat New Orleans on Saturday. The Saints are a better team overall, Eagles are just riding a streak of luck that's bound to end eventually. Everyone around here seems to have jumped on the Garcia bandwagon as well by now. He's a decent quarterback; I'm not a huge McNabb fan so it's nice to see a change in the way the Eagles are playing since the switch in QBs.

My father seems to think that there's a conspiracy amongst the Eagles heads, that Reid and the owners will never take the current Eagles team to the Super Bowl. The reason? McNabb's contract is worth $120 million. Garcia's success in the playoffs dooms McNabb's reputation as a "franchise player," and the Philly fans will never see Donovan as the god we all seem to think he is. Benching McNabb for Garcia (who's proven a competant QB) is $120 million sitting on the sidelines.

If Garcia, a backup QB, takes the Eagles to Miami, McNabb's career is screwed.

I didn't claim Garcia was going to win the superbowl for the Eagles. Why do you bring that up? I think the Saints will probably beat the Eagles, but you never know.

I think I made my point pretty clear in the last 2 posts already...but you seem to have missed it. Keeping the defensive injuries and better playcalling in mind I think they're better with Garcia now than they were with McNabb earlier this season.

Does this mean I hope Garcia starts over McNabb next year? No. I also never said Garcia was better than McNabb. I think the entire team got too reliant on McNabb bailing them out of bad situations and the defense was playing shitty. McNabb went out, and everyone else elevated their play to a level they should have been at the entire season.

That kinda makes sense...but at the same time even if the total off chance that Garcia takes the Eagles to the Super Bowl, I still think McNabb starts over him next year (actually it's kinda reliant on his healing time, he could miss the first few games next year anyway).

Garcia is pretty old, he's still got some juice left in him but he isn't the QB he was years ago. It's not like any other team is going to sign him with a huge contract anyway, he's only got a few years left in him before he takes the path of Bledsoe and Testiverde. Hell maybe the Cowboys will sign him...that's where good players go to die the past few years.

I don't think Mcnabbs career is screwed at all. He took the Eagles to the Super Bowl and 3 other NFC champsionship games. Even if Garcia takes the Eagles to the Super Bowl this year somehow, they would be on equal footing for accolades, while Garcia only caught fire one season while Mcnabbs career record as a starter is stellar.

And before someone says "it'll be different if Garcia wins the Super Bowl", well, lol at the thought of an NFC team winning the Super Bowl this year.

Edit: lol at the conspiracy theory also, you'd be hard pressed to find any member of the Eagles team who has been there for years that would take a pass on the Super Bowl this year to save a 120 million dollar reputation.
