Windower, No windower, PS2 or Xbox? what do you play on?

i use the PS2 for backup when the computer is taken by somebody else <.< and whenever im on PC im using windower with a controller haha

More than 3 desktops in house and 1 laptop. Windower is moot. Considering I play on ps2 the most... like 99.9999% of the time pretty much fails it's use for me.

I have it on both PS2 and PC but i dont use a windower, i use PS2 normally and pc or the rare occasion i dual box at an event, however i always have my laptop handy for getting info i need.

honestly, if your in an endgame LS and a person doesnt have windower and are on a PC to access possible needed information on the LS boards or maps and they dont have a computer, Im not going to feel very comfortable about them. I can understand PS2/Xbox players, but if you can have the info, why not

I always had my computer set up at my desk which was next to my TV I played my xbox360/ps2 on. I have a Mac, just to take care of that "So why didn't you play on PC?" question.

No windower = no FF for me. I'm still not sure how I played 1 year without windower...it was horrible.


Unless you have 2 pc, not having access to AIM/MSN, net, forum would make FFXI unbearable, especially with the retarded waste of time you see in this game

god, if square allows alt+tab on ffxi.... itd fix so much of this shit, fuckload of people would stop using windower = less 3rd party, they'd be happy(lulz) and everyone would win...

I'd only play without windower if I had two monitors.

thing that sucks about that, if you switch highlight to the other monitor, your ffxi STILL gives you lost fullscreen mode error. So having two monitors does nothing haha.

I have two monitors and if you use a USB control adapter you can play while FFXI is out of focus. Also, if you want to run full screen, just set your registry values for the forground and background to the same resolution as your main monitor.

Of course, have to be using windower for this to work.

to the OP. Since everyone came to the understanding that SE apparently doesn't like people using windower, people are sketchy about directly refrencing to it in game. For a while my LS refrenced to it as "charlie brown" lol. I was confused as hell when they started saying that.

And its safe to say 98% of the people that play ffxi on PC use a windower. And the other 2% are people that have another means of looking up information via a laptop or something.

For me i seriously can't imagine FFXI without it. Its as part of the game to me now as sole sushi is. Doesn't make sense without it.

A good portion of my LS refers to it as George. Kinda funny listening to the confused new people. I've directly referenced windower so many times in game though, and never had a problem.

Maybe my account is flagged, but I don't plan on hacking or buying gil or harassing anyone in the near future.

Yes it was in game and no offence but i could care less if SE flagged my acct.
While the game is still fun to play, i cant spend the time to camp or do much of endgame crap, and to be honest the only fun xp parties are the ones with newbies, or less than optimal members/setup; since that is were your skills to stay alive shine.

That being said i still enjoy a great party raping the whole zone

Used it since the first versions were available shortly after launch. Before that I had my laptop handy.

I bought FFXI at PC launch & loved the game but hated the keyboard controls. Never had really played any PC game before. I stopped playing it after a couple hours and looked online, saw the game was originally for the PS2 and the controls were later mapped out to keyboard for the PC version release. I found links from other gamers to the USB to Playstation 2 Controller adapater at Radio Shack & went and bought it that very second at my local store.

That next spring I moved over to PS2 and I stayed hooked on playing the console. So much more comfortable than sitting at the computer desk for hours on end. Only down side was the graphics from hell.

Tried windower on the PC version though a few times and gave up messing with it after maints always killed it. I do think however Square should just allow people to window the game without third party software. It's time already.

Now I have the best of both worlds. Play on the 360 in comfort with good graphics and have the PC for info if need be.

My LS refers to Windower as "Alec Baldwin".

I use the logitech rumble pad for my PC. It works great.
Personally I love the ability to switch out more than 5-6 pieces of gear. Also it sucks not knowing your tp and everyone elses tp.
