This is FF, working hard for gear that will probably become more common/cheap as hell or outdated is what it's all about! I thought I was doing good work by getting my amir boots to replace my efeet. Now though, the ares boots it slightly better... :/

I used to own dusk gloves a long time ago, it got the most use when soloing limbus with a haste build.

When I was still playing I ran 21% haste as war 22/23% as nin and 25% as mnk.

As far as parsing is concerned haste is > anything. So long as you have a brd acc and att really are not very important, no matter what you are fighting.

Yea, acc totally isn't important when fighting Mamools in north camp. Pile on that Haste, doesn't matter if you're hitting 80% of the time.

When fighting Lurkers even Mad won't cap your acc, just saying "ALL HASTE LAWLZ" and not having other types of gear is stupid. If you're getting Mad you're losing 9% haste from March that you could make up by maybe putting on a second Sniper, or a Life Belt, and still have more Haste in the end.

You say Haste > all and Atk and Acc don't matter? Do you sub DRG then for 5% Haste at the cost of 25% ATK? Do you wear Blitz Ring over Snipers? I think everyone at this point knows Haste is good for parsering, but totally ignoring ATK and ACC is ignorant as to how to play a melee. Remember, Haste is only the best stat for higher numbers if your ACC is above 90%, otherwise actually hitting will produce better numbers, and give your Haste the power it needs. Haste does nothing if your extra hits don't connect.

Who is totally ignoring acc and att. Do you have no good armor?

Do you have no Haub+1, Ebody, Shura Togi, Peacock Charm, HQ Snipers, Foragers. Ok if you are a fail noob and you have none of these armors then I guess you shouldn't stack haste, but if you have been playing the game for 3 years and you don't have this stuff you suck. The only haste I promote is the good items, Speed Belt/ Haidate/Turban/Black Belt/Fuma/Dusk. I am by no means saying to sub drg or wear that fucking retarded blitz ring.

By the way if your party is fighting the Lurkers you are retarded, just camp on top of whoever has the good spot and steal their mobs until they leave.

For those of you that aren't losers and actually have your weapons merited, and don't party in single brd fail pts. Then all you need is haste.

To the rest of you, you need a miracle.

Perhaps the first statement I made was too broad for retards, I retract it.

Whoa you crazy Kenshin samurai you, no need to go berserk because someone may have insulted your bushido honor. KYAH.

Anyways, I think like most things in this game its all 1.) situational and 2.) preferential, being proven and adopted after your own personal experiences and parsing.

My brief example, consider the following simple data sets (lolztext, don't have a nice graph atm) of a simplified melee damage set from a party.

1000 attacks (0% haste, baseline attack)
    50 dmg per attack

    100% accuracy - 50,000 dmg
    95% accuracy - 47,500 dmg
    80% accuracy - 40,000 dmg
    70% accuracy - 35,000 dmg

1200 attacks (20% haste, attack equal)
    50 dmg per attack

    100% accuracy - 60,000 dmg
    95% accuracy - 57,000 dmg
    80% accuracy - 48,000 dmg
    70% accuracy - 42,000 dmg

1200 attacks (20% haste, attack sacrificed)
    40 dmg per attack

    100% accuracy - 48,000 dmg
    95% accuracy - 45,600 dmg
    80% accuracy - 38,400 dmg
    70% accuracy - 33,600 dmg

1000 attacks (0% haste, increased attack)
    60 dmg per attack

    100% accuracy - 60,000 dmg
    95% accuracy - 57,000 dmg
    80% accuracy - 48,000 dmg
    70% accuracy - 42,000 dmg

I put in 100% accuracy just for comparison, 95% being the accepted soft-cap on accuracy for the game. Clearly you can see that there is an optimal balance point that can be reached between haste, accuracy, and attack in generating the highest dot damage.

But you can also see that just buffing your attack to the point of hitting an extra 10 dmg harder on your swings yields an equal damage increase to stacking on 20% haste. You lose the added soft-defensive benefit from being able to recast utsu faster but the hurt numbers, the whole point of this exercise, is still there.

So in short, your mileage varies. Maybe those Warrior Mufflers will do you better than those Dusk Gloves. Get both and test them out thoroughly, then pick the one that works the best for you and your setup.
