Anyone ever had one? Some crazy ass shit when you wake up. This morning I was listening to dredg before my girlfriend called, and then next thing I know, I was dreaming up sequences (with me in it) from Eternal Sunshine.
Crazy shit man

May I ask what is a lucid dream?
A very clear dream, or a dream you can sort of control.
Those rare? Cause they happen pretty consistently for me. I think the first time I had one was 5 years ago (lol i still remember), I was having a nightmare with some monster chasing after me, then all of a sudden I decide to turn around and beat the crap out of him. Woke up with much lol that morning.
I have it consistantly so, meh
had one?
yeah
do I still remember it ? no
There was a thread about these kind of things a few month back actually.
Here's the link: http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12512
I used to lucid dream a lot... but doing it on purpose was a lot of work, and I lose enough sleep to school already as it is, so I havent set aside time for it in a long while...
There's two ways to do it, really... either train yourself to realize you're dreaming when you already are (lot of people keep a dream journal to help them remember dreams, and ask themselves "Am I dreaming" consistently throughout the day in the hopes of eventually doing so in a dream), or stay lucid and aware as you fall asleep, so you'll still be aware when you are dreaming... I was more in the second camp, because I could do it fairly reliably.
Most people arent aware that theyre dreaming, they just kind of go with the flow and dont question it... you people that are all the time, you're lucky.![]()
i've always wanted to have one of these.
they sound very interesting
Wouldn't it pretty much be daydreaming? like sometimes I'll stare at shit for a good 2-3 mins and be imagining something else but it isn't sleeping dream or anything cus I'm awake (If someone said my name or something I'd probably snap out of it). But I can still control what I'm dreaming about.

It's not daydreaming. You go to sleep as normal, then start dreaming as normal, but then during the course of the dream, you will realize "this is just a dream; I can make anything I want to happen" and be able to control the dream.
I used to try to Lucid Dream, I started a journal and did all the right shit, but it's hard lol. I even borrowed some books from my universities library to read up on the subject.
Here is what I gathered from every source:
Some people can do this easily and it's almost like second nature because they've been doing it so long
Some people have to use the techniques such as the ones the OP posted to achieve the status to be able to trigger them
Some people will never achieve it because of their brain makeup, etc.
So don't be upset if you can't do it.
Melatonin will cause vivid and lucid dreams for some people, you can try that. You can buy it at Walgreens I think.
I have no statistical data to back this up but I think they are more common in creative types of people. I don't mean creative in that you work in a creative field, like it's not every artist that has one, it could be accountants too (some people have some pretty creative accounting practices nowadays but that's a whole different can of worms).
I can fly in my dreams, and it's definitely a lucid type of dream. You know that men are not supposed to fly but you do it anyway, but it's hard to describe. It's exhilarating and effortless, not like you are flapping wings but willing yourself to move.

Which I don't really think I believe, personally, and in fact its the kind of thinking that can potentially mess you up when dealing with the subconcious like this, 'cause its open to both positive and negative suggestion. Some people will never achieve it because of their brain makeup, etc.

Seems interesting, but logical.
