Chigoe's weren't around when some of us capped it >_> lol

That and they aren't high enough level to really cap parry.

Evasion gear is worthless for RDM, in any case where it would actually work the mobs are too low level and you would just be better served to take the damage and equip attack gear instead

Ok, was figuring that with the chigoe seeing as how you did it a while back, had to double check. Evasion thing makes sense, but I see alot using eva torque and stuff so wasn't sure. Thanks alot.

I personally preferred mandragoras over chigoes simply because of mob spawns. I mean if you want mandies, you grab one and run around the room, within 15 seconds you have rounded up at least 10 of the little punks.

Now chigoes are a bit harder to gather, and not quite so easy to round up in large groups.

But an evasion set can make some fights easier. Can you do it without it just as easily? yeah. But it can help. The uncapped avatar fights come to mind where an evasion set is helpful. Are avatar fights incredibly hard? No. Can you do them without evasion set? yeah, of course you can. but is it easier with an evasion set? It's noticeable, at least in my opinion.

That being said, would I go out and buy evasion gear specifically for red mage (or any other non ninja or thf job)? probably not, but if you already have it, i think it can be situational. But like others said, if it's strong enough that you need /ninja then yes it's going to be absolutely worthless. But for just messing around it's helpful.

Avatar fights are a good example, and probably one of the few very valid ones.

For some reason they are blind as a bat...and yeah evasion does make it even worse.
