EPIC WIN
next week:
"I WONT LET YOU STEAL THE PRESIDENCY" holy shit I can't wait!
The only characters that have appeared in every season since the first are Jack and Aaron Pierce. Everyone else is dead, with the exception of a select few.
As for tonight's episode, MAJOR props to the actor who played the mentally-handicapped brother. That was some FUCKING good acting. The episode in itself I felt kind of went back into the "old school" 24 type drama (this is a good thing), which the season has actually been lacking so far.
Anyone mind cliffsnotesing what the preview was for next week? One of the major downfalls of downloading these eps is that they don't include the previews. =(((
acting is good but... show's getting more predictable by the hour =\
owell, at least fox still has house for people to look forward to
Seriously, how can anyone say this season is good anymore? It's already way to predictable and the fact that the VP is such a douche bag is laughable. Rehashing ideas from the last 3 seasons gets old imo.
I know 24 has never been a show that relies on realism but it's not even entertaining to watch now.
I would love to fuck the scowl right off of Chloe's face.
it's getting a bit silly with the whole assassinate the president / dirty vice president thing. 'you will not steal' blah blah. what the fuck is this? that would never fly IRL.
Since when has 24 not been predictable? They've followed nearly the exact same general formula every season, so it's not like you should be surprised that this season is no different.
Following the same general formula works if at the very least they make it entertaining. Throwing in new ideas that make it so rediculously far fetched is what's been killing this show for the last couple of seasons. (for me at least)
edit: wording
I definitely thought this was the best episode of the season so far. It just felt like all the tension and drama from all the previous seasons that had been lacking this year. I cannot wait to see what happens with the VP and Palmer next week. Will the cabinet be behind him? yay/nay? All I know is that VP is fucking crazy.. how the hell do you just launch a nuclear missile for no reason.
Plus you guys gotta look at the way they do the days by having them years and years apart. I mean there is no way in hell a person can have that many interesting days but there could be that many VP's who want to be Pres. and have their own policys. (maybe)
Watching Tom's reaction to the VP is fking priceless. Its that whole "you're fking crazy" look each time the VP opens his mouth w/ his "launch the nuke at all costs" attitude.Originally Posted by Po
I still like the show, don't really see the problem with it. Its not quite as pimp as it was a few seasons back, but thats really because most of the suspense is wearing off. They've reached the point where every episode has to be end-of-the-world ticking bombs or its just more of the same, so I can see why people might get turned off.
This is one of my biggest issues with this season. The situation that's going on now isn't even conceivable in todays world. It's just to outlandish for me to grasp or find entertaining.Originally Posted by Po
How can anyone honestly accept the fact that the president was woken up out of a medically induced coma, have Sherry and the other lady(forget her name) tell him wtf the VP was doing, and still have the ability to make the phone call he did all within the time frame presented. On top of all that BS they use Rainman as a decoy/informant.
One of the worst 24 episodes ever.
Sherry's dead dude. You're a couple seasons too late.
W/e his sisters name is dude.
Sandra?
Anyways, as for season 6 so far, I'm kinda impartial. I still obsess over watching each episode of 24 every week, but I do agree to a certain extent that 24 has lost some of its 'flair'. Season 1 was definitely the best, for me atleast. Conspiracies and treason within CTU and Palmer's Administration, plots to assassinate Palmer, kidnapping of Jack's family. Season 1 had it all, and I guess it could've been the most exciting for me as it was the first I'd ever watched of 24 (I'd only started watching Season 1 about 4 months ago).
Still a good season so far though, but lacks what the earlier seasons had.
Yeah, I saw Season 1 after Season 2-5, but it was def. awesome. A lot of it seemed rough around the edges compared to later seasons as far as set-design, presentation, etc, but the actual story and surprises were top-notch. Nina wasn't exactly that much of a shock to me (obviously), but it would've been out of the blue if I had been watching the show for the first time.
Most stuff now is really predictable, but at least its still entertaining (to me anyway).
Yeah, this season has been lacking for sure. There was only about 2 episodes I actually really enjoyed.

Best part of the season
I dunno about you guys, but I'd have to agree with Po...very good episode, and imo in one of the best seasons of 24. You guys have to realize if this was season 1-2 and season 1-2 were swicthed, you'd hate them too. Its hard to make people happy even if you try, because naturally the same show just wont be as exciting 6 seasons later. Ever have a girlfriend?Originally Posted by Po
New episode tonight ^_^
