24 Season 6 Discussion

I feel dirty for saying this, but it's almost like 24 has jumped the shark. There's really nothing the show can do to top the start of this season without breaking into a full-scale WW3-type scenario, which would just plummet the show back into the hole it just crawled out of. In terms of just sticking to Jack and dealing with his day-to-day adventures, that's also quite exhausted. His family, love interests, friends, and work have all been used to death for random situations. There is absolutely no way the show can create a strong bond with a character in the future due to extremely high mortality rate it has, and it's quite obvious that without Jack, 24 isn't 24.

For the sake of the show's respect, end after S7, release the movie, and let the show go down in the record books as a fucking good series. Otherwise, I beg you, please PLEASE prove me wrong.

I have a great idea for Season 8. While on a plane ride to go on vacation Jacks plane experiences problems and crashes on a remote island with strange monsters and hatches. While on this island he ends up in prison and must break out by befriending some of the bad passengers of the plane he crashed with in time to stop a bomb from exploding in LA. He only has 24 hours to escape from the prison and survive the monsters from the island before LA is destroyed. However, little does he know that the people who escape with him all have powers straight from a comic book that became awakened by the island, some of those powers are very dangerous and Jack can't let them escape with him to LA.

The biggest problem w/ this season has been the first 4 episodes, as they set the bar way too high for the rest to measure up to. It was on an entirely different level.

Was President Plamer basically permenently incapacitated? They were making it sound like he would be unable to resume the duties of the Presidency, indefinitely.

Kinda depressing, not a ton of action, but it was mostly setting up the next couple of episodes.

And yea I agree with above sentiments. This has probably been the best action show on TV since 2001, and it should not sell out just to keep milking the show.

And yea I agree with above sentiments. This has probably been the best action show on TV since 2001, and it should not sell out just to keep milking the show.
