I am looking at getting a brand new Super Famicom on ebay.
I want to make sure I get the right Japanese numbering system FF with it.
Which Super Famicom FF is FF2 on the snes here or FFIV on PSX. You know the one with Kain, Cecil, etc?
Thanks guys.

FF2 with the Red Wings and Cecil is FF4 I believe. On SNES
er.
FF2 Japan
FF4 US
FF2US = FF4JPOriginally Posted by Po
FF3US = FF6JP
Other then that all console FF's kept the same numbering and name. Handhelds are a different story I belive... I know Seiken Densetsu 1 was released as Final Fantasy Adventure in the US... not sure what else deviates in that area.
Backwards, FF2JP = FF4US, and FF3JP=FF6US.Originally Posted by Vinen

GTFO, you are wrong.
I personally own the FF4,5,6 Carts for the Super Famicom.
and the FF2 and 3 Carts for Super Nintendo.

Pretty excited.
Why on earth is all the artwork for FF5 on an FF4 box?
@po

How much was the system itself? Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to just "mod" an SNES from a garage sale or find an adapter?
If you look at an SNES cart, you've got two notches on the back. SNES systems have those...Super Famicoms don't. Take a guess as to how you can play Super Famicom games on an SNES >_>
That is beside the point, I like to collect things like this. A 14 year old system in pristine condition, with the box, all manuals, controllers, plastic, everything is worth the cost that I paid to me.
That's actually pretty cool dude. Your money. More power to you.
seeing that everything is almost in mint condition from the pictures, I would say it's worth every cent.
yep! This is what I buy old systems and games... I probably have over 20-30 Sealed Japanese release games. I tend to collect from the SFam era... but I've started working Playstation and Playstation 2 (mainly Tales of * games).Originally Posted by Po

I want to pick up Super Mario World for the SFam too.
Ahh, I personally focus on RPGs. I love Box and Cartridge Art. I never opened my SFamicom up just uhh modified my SNES like people earlier in the thread mentioned. When I purchase a house within the next few years I am going to setup some sort of a room to showcase my collection.Originally Posted by Po
Thinking offhand what I have for the SNES
Star Ocean
Tales of Phantasia
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Estpolis 1 (Lufia 1)
Estpolis 2 (Lufia 2)
Tactics Ogre
Ogre Battle
ummm I forget after thatI have a lot of SNES carts also.
I will also showcase my fathers comic card collection in my game room as well... although I fear that will take up more space then I will have... he probably has one of the most complete Marvel / DC / etc comic card collections in the Northeast.
Yea Final Fantasy IV is my favorite RPG by far which is why I bought that with the SFam. I have not decided whether or not to set it up or keep it in the box and everything.. guess we'll see.
Probably a stupid question, but, SFam games don't have an option to display in English do they? Either way I don't care, I bought it mostly as a collector item.
I can't wait until Thursday when I get it!
