Crafting Lord's Cuirass

Here's a riddle. I'm 80+2 goldsmithing (85 total with advanced support), trying to synth a Lord's Cuirass. I'm following the recipe from ffxi.somepage and ffxiclopedia (same recipe both places), and I keep getting the message "Too many materials." Is there something I'm missing?

Using an inferno crystal too, btw, in case that matters.

Somepage is wrong, obviously, you are using to much of the gold if I remember right. (One to many.)

^thats from somepage, so im going to guess, your using 1 to many gold ingots

I heard somewhere that the total numbers of items in any given synthesis recipe will never exceed 8. As the Somepage one has a total of 9, it's very likely an incorrect recipe.

That's correct- a synthesis recipe can't exceed 8 pieces (so you can place each component individually in a synthesis slot, even if they'd stack).

So the Mysterytour recipe is likely the right one. 50 Goldsmithing says someone else checks though.

Ahh, thanks guys. I figured out the mistake in the recipe a little while after posting.

That max of 8 materials thing is new to me though. Good info.

a better question than what the correct recipe is...why the hell do you want to synth it in the first place? That's an absolutely retarded skill up synth, and while i'm no paladin, i would think that there are better body options, no?

Mystery Tour is correct. For some reason, with me, Somepage has alot of inccorect recipes(sp) so when I craft or need something for crafting, I go to MT.. Just use that website from now on. alot better IMO

If there ever was any doubt..you just need the skill rank and can ask the Guild NPCs now..can't go wrong that way

Actually, your 84 with Advanced support. Advanced support isn't +3 till your a veteran crafter (88+).

I fixed the FFXIclopedia one after reading this thread.
