I was able to solo phuabo at lvl71/72 on a friends account. Just bring every peice of +enfeeble gear you can because you're gonna need it![]()
It's nice xp, but not fast solo since you can spend up to 5 mins on the same one. Once you're 74-75 it's a joke to kill.
Ul are annoying because of the droprate, so we went for Om with 6 people.
NIN,NIN,BRD,RDM,BLM,BLM
Both NIN will out-DOT the regen easily. Then we just made a Distortion chain for the 2 BLM to burst Blizzaga to speed up the kill.
They are really slow and really blind.
Aydeewa is a great place.Originally Posted by aurik

If you are smart and pay attention to the chat log, Drape shouldn't be in issue...
But paying attention to a chat log seems to be 99% of everyone's problem.
(Edit: We bring a THF too... go go 10/10 on a mix of HQ and NQ)
for the record WoJ has always been against ToS, people have been jailed for using it on AV, to my knowlege nobody has been jailed for using it on Yorvas yet, but Aurik is correct when he says use at your own risk.Originally Posted by aurik

If you do decide to do hpemdes, use the mouth-opening trick to make sure all your nukes are double-damage. 3 doubled stone4s will kill it even at 68.
Soloing chigoes off of marids would probably be better xp, not sure. Too lazy/not enough RL dexterity to dual box a char to pop chigoes off of marids. But with the Hpemdes, you can kill the pretty quickly on BLM. Using your old LJ as a reference they open their mouth after 30 seconds of being damaged. I use drain as the first damage spell due to the MP/DMG ratio. You can time your nuke to land (Stone IV when you start) right as the Hpmede opens its mouth. If your nuke lands during the mouth opening animation, the mouth will stay open even after taking double damage. You can then cast your next highest nuke (Thunder III) resulting in the Hpmede closing its mouth. Kite/Bind it a bit for another 30ish seconds and you next nuke should kill it.Originally Posted by aurik

It's pretty decent chain 4 xp once you start get the timing down for two nukes for one open mouth. I don't have the MP pool or hMP gear at 71 to chain 5 yet. You should net you around 5-8k/hr depending on your level if you are ontop of pulling and mp management.
Unfortunately at 70ish goblin pets sorta suck, at 72 its not even worth doing since the ToAU pets will rape you.
Archaeologists in Aydeewa are great, there is a camp at the Hydra exit to Wajoum Woodlands that offers 2 at zone, 5 in middle then 2 at the next zone. It is even kind enough to give you worms as mp batteries on the level below.
Weak to enfeeble, sanction refresh, can't interupt casting, weak to nukes and amusing. Nice camp 67 - Wamoura/Pudding. (Low drop rate on sea organs ...).
If qiqurn make for decent blm solo exp maybe the ones in undersea ruins are worth a try. I'm not certain what level they are but they seem to be in the 65-69 range. Plus if things start to go bad you could sleep and take one of the teleporters to another floor.
The ones near the Nyzul Isle Staging Point? I'm pretty sure they were still T at 75, making them at least level 75.
Assuming you mean the ones at just past the north door, they are 76-77 (possibly 78) mobs from my expirence. I was duoing there with another blm (65) as blm66 for a while and only once we didn't get capped exp (10 levels difference = 288 base exp. 11 levels difference = 318 exp).Originally Posted by Scythiroth
Necrobump but I didn't feel this question deserved it's own thread; what are your guys droprate on the ul'yovras? I'm like 0/14 on the kills I've witnessed(except the one time dblock on asura mpked us by getting himself and his lsmates charmed by the yovra we were fighting somehow, they got the drop of coarse), and it's difficult to get enough competent people on the proper jobs to go after the om's, but both of the ones we've killed dropped.
Also I don't understand how/why does this this "WoJ" work? I thought when people talked using about a "wall of justice" on AV it was a goblin's footprint or something, but I am really out of the loop with this stuff I guess.
Hard to say, because you usually don't kill alot of them, but I think it's either 33% or 50%.
the wall of justice trick is basically that separating north sea(accessable by teleing to holla/dem/mea) and south sea(entered from sealion's den) is a wall that can't be crossed by players, or mobs for that matter.
the 'wall of justice' trick, initially used in early takedowns of unlocked AVs, and can be used for yorva farming, involves having a player(or in the case of AV, players) drag the mob to said wall, and having players on the other side of the wall get hate on the mob. players are able to cast and use job abilities(im not sure if RAs work) to kill the mob, but the mob is unable to touch the players.
use at your own risk tho. as has been said in this thread and elsewhere, this is considered using the terrain of a zone unfairly against a mob, according to SE, and is a violating of the terms of service, and can result in the banning of all players involved.
After Limbus on saturdays, my LS sometimes will fight the Om by the Temenos zone in the far north. Open with an ice/dark SC and it's 1/2 dead by the first SC+MB's. Have your BLM zone and come back to reset hate, then SC+MB some more and it's dead.
