After he died he actually switched to Crimson Legs and Feet, and AF2 hands, and tanked in a Numinous shield (NQ) for the phat 10 resist it offers.

Oh and he still kept the Excalibur, Koenig Head, and Koenig Body on.

No he used a +1 Numinous and he was using elemental resist gear from the time of the first pop until we downed the second JoL. Oh, it was AF2 Body, not Koenig body also. Drax was tanking in more Koenig then Soup, simply because he doesn't have the same gear options available.

He did buy NQ but a day or two after he had an LS mate do a synth and it HQed. I was down there on Emi's second fight and he was wearing HQ.

And everyone that says shit about somebody using Excal for tanking.. well, if you spent all that time to get it, wouldn't you wanna have fun with it too? You can talk shit all you want about the way somebody gears themselves but, all Soup does is try to make use of the Excal or try out different things. Its better then doing the same thing over and over. Even if people say its not the best way to gear yourself, at least somebody tries it for themselves to test first hand. Its better then wearing a brutal earring while staff tanking Fafnir on ninja or dusk gloves on pld while kiting a mob (Sully from Machina has done both these things recently as well as the recent BTD CFH on Fafnir.)

I'm all for new and original ideas for tanking a mob but when there are several proven methods that are fairly hard to beat, why use an idea that probably isn't going to work? Not exactly rocket science when it comes down to being a tank, being a DD, or nuking mobs.

"Pushing the envelope" on those jobs is rapidly hitting provenlyreturns. 5 hour Kirins are now down to 3-5 minute kills. Manaburn groups can clear Dynamis zones in record times. Tanking JoL with Excalibur? Sure its a fun chance to use your toy, but doubtful its going to make yours or anyone else's job easier.

Soup should save it for mobs that are still being researched like AV.

Yes the quote is randomly retarded but it was funny for the situation it was in. The sig was made by a friend of mine and I told him to put whatever he wanted in it from the gear he knew I had and he wanted to add the image of me saying the thf thing with the image of homam legs and the item to obtain it. Its also part of an inside joke from a static I used to be in that ended up with me getting it by mistake (wasn't even my fault.) Its pretty easy to talk shit about something you know nothing of though isn't it? Oh and to answer your question, yes I am proud and I find it entertaining when people tell me how the picture of the homam upsets them. Get over it. I almost quit the game over it because there was a few people who didn't have it in the static and the situation pissed me of but I got over it and now its just a joke we laugh at. Its to bad my friend made the sig for me and not for others.

Aurik, I duno, I had dmg filters on and honestly don't really care. I wouldn't personally use it for tanking if I had it. I was merely stating that if somebody spent all that time to get it, it seems like a waste to not use it.

Just because we had a massive amount of people there doesn't mean we zerged him. Although I had to leave early, the only people I saw die were our 2 KC DRKs, tanks, and the WHM cure bombing the DRKs.

Soup holds hate fine with Excalibur and I've never seen anyone complain about dying because he had Excal. equipped. If someone feels that way, you might sugguest they bring it up in LS chat because I've never seen anyone who cared.

While you're entitled to your opinion on Soup being a lootwhore, you might want to check how many items he's obtained from Emi compared to some other members. There are at least 8 other people who have obtained more items than Soup, some of which weren't members who came from NK in the beginning. Hate Soup as much as you want, talk as much shit about him as you like, but at least put some truth behind.

Fun Fact: Eminence has a wishlist system, similar to the old one in KtD (don't know if you kept it on your new forums). Dates are used along with Linkshell participation to help determine who should recieve the item. Soup has had the D. Ring on his list since July, the next closest person in December. The next closest person has certainly has had a much worse attendence rate, at least in the last two months and hardly comes PLD from my experiences anyway.

Aurik: Phobia was the one who synthed Soup's +1 Numinous the same day as he synthed my signed Aquilo's staff.
