Well, I've seen Rajas advocated regularly but was never 100% convinced... and I coulda sworn someone said to use Blessed+1 instead of ASA now. It's believable...
The last time I did Puks for my mule, I had 93.8% accuracy, wearing full Haste/Acc (no STP), using Marinara Pizza +1.
(Having DEX+100 helps a lot!)
Rajas has always been your best option, capped or uncapped accuracy.
Yea, I've always used Rajas. I remember always having to eat sushi for Puk parties, but that's at level 75 doing a merit party that no one does anymore. I did an Abyssea group the other day, and I ate meat instead of sushi and I was still rocking 95% accuracy and crushing everyone, and that's with level 80 club skill.
Do people center their gear choices around Abyssea now or should I still be looking at capping accuracy/etc. outside of Abyssea?
My best or one's best? KC makes for extremely varied rounds-to-100, and although mine is 20hit (with Rajas taking it to 19hit; 5% faster), I have never gotten a clear answer on STP vs. KC ... despite asking smart people very often.
Now if you tell me STR+5 somehow beats 4.5acc by enough to not even worry about STP, fine.
But it's 2011, someone's gotta have a good understanding of STP on multi-hits now that:
-- one-handed jobs aren't as gimpy, and
-- multi-hit weapons are more common
pweeeez help me understand...
Don't you rage when you miss a swing on Hexa Strike, and your next TP round you end up at 99% TP? I basically punch my monitor every time that happens.
I think people are overstating Rajas' (and by extension, STP's) importance for 1handers, Store TP is the most valuable stat on it and it's seldom a major factor if it's not for an X-hit (which is only truly relevant for 2handers).
Assuming you're using a kclub I can't see how this could happen with any degree of regularity.
Hexa is the only club WS aligned with either gorget, so why not?
Probably had more organs for flame lying around when he went to make one.
Light and flame work equally for hexa. And light/dark need 2 yovra organs vs the other 6 gorgets only needing one.
These are sets I'm working on. TP is fine, it's my WS set I still need to finish. Nah not a dumb question at all. Light/Flame are both options right now. I have the organs for flame and am still considering whether to go pick another yoyvra for light. I'm leaning towards doing so because I have COR and RDM and the light gorget nice for that. As for belts, I don't have either at the moment although we kill Indrik so I intend to pick one up. I just thought it would be marginally easier to get the flame belt.
Cool. I'm a career mage/COR too, so I don't know that much about "optimal WS" stuff. I have Light Belt and almost the organs for Light Gorget, since it works on COR and SMN's Garland of Bliss too.
I was just making sure I didn't need to farm a 2nd one for Hexa to be "optimal" or anything (since fire is usually aligned with STR I wouldn't have been surprised)
Gorgets/belts are aligned with SC properties and they either work or they don't (WS mods are irrelevant). Hexa is fusion, fusion = fire+light, light gorget/belt is no more "optimal" than fire. Light gorget/belt are good ones to have in general tho since they work for way more WSs than most.
Also gorget isn't a word according to FF's spell check.
The STR doesn't have to beat it alone. You're forgetting the crit rate. Your alternative in most current situations should probably not be an ACC ring, but a dex ring, which makes it flat out no comparison, but anyway.
Rather or not the STP will matter is relatively simple:But it's 2011, someone's gotta have a good understanding of STP on multi-hits now that:

If you're going to be getting hit a lot, you want the STP.
If you know that a baseline xhit build for you will change, you want the STP.
If you're using regain atma/gear and therefore dealing with irregular returns, you want the STP.
In short, unless you're sitting as a "backup" dd (i.e. not getting hit), with no regain, and know for certain that it will not change your xhit... you want the STP.
edit:
We'll see when the new patch hits. ATM literally everything outside is 15-20 levels lower or more than inside, so the loss of atmas is made up for by that.
I was going to finish Stage 1 club this weekend but with Mothers day, apparently, and THOR coming out I guess half my static is going to be "/away".
I wanted to get it before the merger, just in case.
Anyone else who has empy club, tell me how awesome it is?
No I'm not, my DEX crit rate is capped (RR).My acc isn't, though...
(this started with my questions regarding abyssea, so that was the working assumption)
This is good general advice, but I'm still not sure it applies to KC so simply. Irregularity of mob hits/regain is one thing, and irregularity of KC is another. It's, like, mega-irregular.Rather or not the STP will matter is relatively simple:

During each [brief] TP phase:
A mob might hit a few times (~10 extra TP)
KC might give me 3+ swings for 5 rounds; very likely)
KC might give me 4+ swings for 4 rounds; ~20 extra TP)
KC might give me 5+ swings for 3 rounds; ~40 extra TP)
I guess I'm gonna hafta find that one THF on alla who did delicious TP calculations for Triple Attack vs overflow... and try very hard to apply it to my situation (or PM him!)
Are you sure RR + cruor is capping your ddex on its own? I don't know whm gear that well but I can't think of a single other place you're going to be wearing any dex. I guess that's like +110 dex now so maybe.
I guess you'd have to figure out what's happening more often between it being wasted and being used to get really precise with a kraken... but then you'd probably also have to figure out minuscule differences in tp's effect on crit as well. If it's tiered (I think we're not sure? correct me if I'm wrong here plz) then it would get even more complex as you might lose a few % crit by landing at 139 instead of 140 tp, or 199 instead of 200, etc. This is good general advice, but I'm still not sure it applies to KC so simply. yes, RR + cruor buffs is absolutely capping ddex on any job.
If you had to pick a dream TP/WS set for WHM/NIN, what would it be? I'm looking through all this new gear, and it's sort of overwhelming me. I was thinking of replacing Potent Belt with Virtuoso Belt, but I think the STR would be better for WS.
I also planned on replacing the Swift Belt with that Goetia Belt, then replacing Blessed +1 with ASA Haste/Attack or ASA Haste/Acc legs, which would bring me back down to 26% haste.
