Bloodsuckers in Bostanieux Oubliette, I did /DNC and just samba after first round, hold all TP 'til he's low. It doesn't take long to melee them down.

But that way you can avoid two annoying situations:

    1) Acid Mist - instantly Erase + Rand thanks to /DNC
    2) TP Drainkiss - if you melee them down, he should never get you below 100

I hope this helps, go get 'em Izzy!!! :D :D

We melee whm's mostly did ATT + ACC before (for WS) but now in the case of Zelus+Redingote for TP we are doing either DualWield+ACC or DualWield+STP (though some have suggested crit, I disagree with that)

If you don't have Goliard Saio or Zelus, you can still do the DW option, it's just not quite as good as the haste would be

Yea, I was doing these, but it was taking way longer than the beasts to do. OH WELL, GUESS I'M GOING BACK DOWN THERE!

Or if you have traverser stones to burn (which I assume you will have) the Gneiss leeches in Abyssea-Konschtat are nice and squishy with cruor/atma buffs.

Ok, I finished the Leeches, now it's on to Vermin. I was asking around, and most people do bees. I'm worried about doing them because if a Final Sting gets off, then I get no credit for that mob.

Chigoes in abyssea were my fav. Kyaru wasn't alone though. We were farming gold chests so I was killing and/or weakening some w/ my SAM as well. SAM WHM(Kyaru w/ mjollnir) and BRD. Makes quick easy work of em. As you mentioned w/ Bees, Final Sting is a definite worry and would probably make them not worth doing over other choices. I did bees on my vermin trial for Amano only because I could oneshot them before they got TP(before they hit 25% HP) and because we didn't have Scars chigoes when I did em I think.... otherwise I woulda probably done chigoes.

I'd be doing it solo. I wouldn't have anyone to support.

You'll be fine. People might come cleave on top of you though, but if you can't get any mobs there's crawlers, wamoura, antlions, and scorps all in the same zone.

If you feel like doing it the old-school way, you can just do flies in the tree, they are plentiful and familiar, very squishy and so on. For them you can /NIN if you want, but I think I stayed /DNC to feel slightly more autopilot and cure way less. (engage>samba)

As with all things these days, there's prolly a better/more efficient way involving abyssea and/or help from others, but even the old way it's pretty quick with KC. :)

For BirdsFamily, I did Marsh Murres in Caedarva Mire (west of Nashmau) and again, didn't take very long. You can kill the ones nearest town and head up the path toward the graveyard; there is one right at the start of the graveyard. By the time you kill that first graveyard bird, repops will be ready back by Nashmau.

Still pretty convinced the best overall Vermin spot outside Abyssea is Biddybugs in Jugner [S], especially at 90 when Nepenthean Hum very rarely connects and never lasts more than 30 seconds if it does. Obscenely low health, weak TP moves, and some quick, easy, non-AH cashflow besides.

All fairly irrelevant. Abyssea is stupidly faster, and nothing else should be up for consideration.

Maybe, but just taking that for granted takes all the fun out of it.

It means that people discussing the relative merits of non-Abyssea Magian targets do not need to be reminded that it should not be difficult to find an Abyssea camp that will absolutely destroy any of those targets.

I'll try out Abyssea chigoes. I did initially try leeches in Abyssea, but they hit way too hard.

I've got a fairly open mind, but are we really talking about bringing some nostalgia to relic magian trials to increase the fun factor, as apposed to simply speeding it up so you can enjoy your upgraded weapon?

Not at all. I'm not, at least. A slightly slower non-Abyssea alternative might be worth considering for somebody who is, for whatever reason, short on Abyssea time.

That being said, I think you're exaggerating the advantage a bit. Abyssea's faster, sure, but do keep in mind I'm talking about mobs 25-30 levels beneath you as non-Abyssea alternatives. The difference is doing 4k WSes to mobs with 6k health or 1.5k to mobs with 3k (and you are taking MUCH less damage, which isn't that big a deal to WHM but is significant for everybody else), and when you're on killshots it's not as hugely pronounced as you're making it out to be.

Except that a WHM/NIN should have zero issues maintaining time(and building their own lights). And the taking less damage point is ridiculous when you consider how often you can just patch yourself with a Cure5.

    Abyssea is significantly faster. /fin
