    What a unlucky asteroid

    http://men.msn.com/articlepm.aspx?cp-do ... wsignin1.0

    Lovely.

Friday the 13th of April 2029 could be a very unlucky day for planet Earth. At 4:36 am Greenwich Mean Time, a 25-million-ton, 820-ft.-wide asteroid called 99942 Apophis will slice across the orbit of the moon and barrel toward Earth at more than 28,000 mph. The huge pockmarked rock, two-thirds the size of Devils Tower in Wyoming, will pack the energy of 65,000 Hiroshima bombs -- enough to wipe out a small country or kick up an 800-ft. tsunami.
And they also got plans to make it move off its course, just in case it might hit us.

ofn AND the asteroid has also shifted in course so It's going to miss us by a few but you'll still be able to see it skim.

The ones that scare me more are the ones they don't know about and can't detect. I remember reading about one that came sorta close, but we didn't even know about it until it was past Earth because it came from the direction of the Sun.

Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll hit some foreign country that nobody likes. I know where I've got my bets placed!

It could hit a trailer park and do over 3.4 BILLION in improvements.

Or it could hit the middle east and solve everyone's problems by turning everything into a big sheet of glass. >.>

No matter where a Meteor hits earth, it'd hit so hard and so fast that the results would be supernatural. The meteor would reach purple hot temperatures (even hotter than white/blue hot) and will incinerate anything within a like 300-600 mile radius of it as it crashes to earth. And despite the movies, the meteor would be moving so fast that it'd go from viewable to hitting earth within seconds. There'd be no staring up as it came for us.

The resulting blast would kick up enough smoke and dust to cloud out the entire earth, and the resulting shockwave would result in tsunamis all over the world. A few minutes after the impact we'd experience 400-500 mph winds simply because of the magnitude of the hit and everything on earth would likely be in chaos by then.

Also there's the issue of the meteor burning it's way into the earths crust and then bursting into millions of smaller asteroids which would then rain down on the earth.

(I watched some special about Armageddon and shit awhile ago)

The thing is though, the universe is so big, its impossible to tell what giant pieces of shit are actually floating to us. Be awesome if there was like, a comet the size of the sun moving at like 50 quadrillion mps that just owned us instantly

the dying part would suck, but itd be fuckin bad ass lookin

My first thought wasn't about Bruce Willis, but about Cloud. Does that make me a fanboy?
