Not a movie, but the British TV show Coupling. You can get it on DVD in the states and it's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
I was wondering about this too. Pride & Prejudice was made/filmed entirely in the UK. God I love that movie so much /swoonOriginally Posted by Falconblade

Sliding Doors (1998) with Gwyneth Paltrow
The only chick flick I like!! Coincidentally my avatar comes from the movie![]()
Shaun of the Dead is only my favorite movie ever. Already posted though.
Uhh... British movies... umm... anything with Bill Nighy in it.

anyway, british movies rock - can't really add anything since all the really good ones have been listed already
Mean Machine, Brit version of "The Longest Yard" starring Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Gone in 60 Seconds).
Greenfingers, convicts turned gardeners, starring Clive Owen. Sounds damn boring, but it's a smaller one that I love.
I cannot stress enough how awesome that TV show is.Originally Posted by finale23
If you're into Shakespeare (and its a very acquired taste), then the movie version of Much Ado About Nothing with Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branaugh (or however its spelled) was excellent.
The Longest Yard was called Mean Machine in the UK. The English remake is okay, but the Burt Reynolds original is far superior.Originally Posted by bigfreakinlion

Great film, but helps if you know a little history of Idi Amin, and Uganda.
Forest Whitaker and James McAvoy are great.
All the Bond movies, all the Carry On movies.
Seen a majority of those, I must say, Shaun of the Dead was not funny at all in my opinion.
I loved The Hitchhiker's Guide though, great movie -- Mos Def kicks ass.
"We're gonna die...unless...*runs to lever and starts twisting it*"... XD
Green Street is really good, altho it would help to be slightly familiar with some the english football fan steriotypes.
its a shame that kind of writing is absent in a lot of our tv. none of those actors on that show are absolutely hysterical, but when in the proper situation and the proper dialogue, its classic.Originally Posted by finale23
dont know if it was mentioned or not, though its also not a movie, Faulty Towers is the funniest sitcom i have ever seen. ever. British movies are ok, but they arent any better than american ones, unlike their tv(minus colbert) and music
