I thought I heard somewhere that HDDVD was only like 16GB tops or so. But I could be mistaken.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
HD-DVD: Single layer 15GB, Dual 30. Double Sided 30/60.
Blu-Ray: Single Layer 25GB, Dual 50. Double Sided 50/100.
Konami just needs to let Kojima make an MGS movie like Square let sakaguchi make FF: The spirits within so it can tank.
Then kojima will knock off overfilling his next mgs game with audio+cutscenes and concentrate on packing more actual *game* into the disc.

There is a 50GB HD DVD toshiba released, But I think it's triple layer lol.
Yeah, triple layer is 51GB - but wtf is that lol. Blu-Ray's will probably end up with a triple later soon as well.Originally Posted by Zigma
I welcome multiple-disk RPGs (or any games for that matter)... but if they decide to import it to the 360 it'll be too much. >.>
Except that any MGS movie would be fucking amazing and full of victory.Originally Posted by Navia
No, I'm sorry. But some of us wanna play a game. Not watch it. MGS is great, yes. But by the end of MGS2 and having to sit through 20 minutes of dialogue before the last boss I was like "Fuck it I don't care anymore." when it was finally done.Originally Posted by Kuya
Does he not like compressing audio or something? What the fuck lol

People wouldn't ask Beethoven to change his music style to fit to their liking, they wouldnt ask Picasso to make more sense in his painting. Why would you ask Kojima to make his game any differently?
Xenosaga was all gameplay!
The last 20 mins of MGS2 is one of the greatest artistic achievements in video game history.Originally Posted by Huggo

All those cutscenes where worth it in Xenosaga 3 my friend.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
One of the main reasons that VHS out did BetaMax was the fact that all of the porn companys recorded their porn on VHS, Blue ray will fail simply because of this fact, I can almost garentee it. Sony is so stubborn they think they are so good that they can do anything they want and everyone will like it. What a shitty move.Originally Posted by Sykes
I think it's a different time now. All the porn is on the internet. VHS vs Beta was before the internet, you can get your porn online and I think a very big chunk of business in product sales for porn has lowered, thus making it less of the marketshare for this form of economic battle.Originally Posted by senoska
I really really want games that take up more space. Oblivion is a HUGE game (I think my FFXI folder is around 7GB, Oblivion was around 10GB?) with a LOT of detail, great graphics and awesome AI(well, at least the NPC's were great). I can't wait for a world like that to be "normal" and the more space you can give games the more likely it is to use it.
Storage size is a dumb term to wave around these days.
It's pretty mich infinite, and both bluray and hddvd are nearly similiar in size, and when they keep adding layer after layer, its just a moot point.
If people wanted size they would adopt HVD.
