my main problem with that episode was how weak they made the Menos Grandes look.

It doesn't seem all that odd to me. Espada 9 was a Gillian, and Rukia still beat him alone. All of those Arrancar that came with Grimmjow were Adjuchas-level, and they were still significantly weaker than Toshiro/Rangiku/Renji after their limiters were removed.

That isn't true is it? Renji even said that they won because they surprised/overwhelmed them with the sudden boost in power and that if they had their limiters off from the start they probably wouldn't have won.

yeah he said that if they were 100% at start they probably would have lost.

Meh, whatever. I don't think they would have lost. I look at it like this: Rukia beat Espada 9, and Espada 9 would be stronger than those other guys. Rukia is definitely not as powerful as Toshiro or Renji, and probably not Rangiku either, so I don't see how they would have lost their fights.

well the manga said it... so i'll believe the manga when the said he probably would have lost. and read back, only renji said it about himself. does it apply to the other 3? who knows.

as for Rukia beating AA, she got her ass kicked by him. She only beat him cause AA was pretty arrogant, and Rukia regrew her broken zanpaktou through his head.
aaand just cause "A" can beat "B" and "B" can beat "C", doesnt mean "A" can beat "C".

I was thinking about it earlier today and I couldn't remember who Espada 1,2, and 3 were. 4 is Uloquierra (sp) and 5 is that guy with the big crescent shaped sword Guy who fights Kenpachi shortly. My friend said they were briefly introduced earlier, but I can't recall. Does anyone recall anything about these Espada?

Gauging the strength of the Menos when Ichigo had no real grasp of his powers and Rukia was weakened is kind of silly. He would've died then were it not for Ishida shooting off his excess energy, anyway. Overall, Menos are probably a "bigger deal" in the real world to Captains and Lieutenants due to the limiter, of which I'd imagine everyone ranked below them would still be below the point of limitation anyway.

Fast forward to the Menos Forest filler and you get one guy who's basically survived amidst a sea of them. They're big, but incredibly stupid, as evidenced further by the whole deal with Grimmy and the explanation of Hollow evolution. This isn't to say they aren't a threat, but they're just not the biggest fish in the sea.

When Ichigo first hurt Renji, Kutchi(sp) said he expected it because Renji doesn't get to draw his sword often which would make him rusty. Before the Ss arc it seems they didn't do much because even ken said he was hoping Ichigo would take the rust off of his sword.

Just rewatched the episode where Aizen is talking about the reason he's after Rukia towards the end of the SS arc..

Aizen mentions the reason Urahara was kicked out of SS was because he created a gigai (spelling? It's the name of the body a spirit can live in in the human world) which couldn't be tracked and another which could drain the spiritual energy of the spirit until it became a human, which he was using on Rukia. So we should keep that in mind as we read the manga discussing Urahara's expulsion from SS.

Aizen mentions the reason Urahara was kicked out of SS was because he created a gigai (spelling? It's the name of the body a spirit can live in in the human world) which couldn't be tracked and another which could drain the spiritual energy of the spirit until it became a human, which he was using on Rukia. So we should keep that in mind as we read the manga discussing Urahara's expulsion from SS.

Seems like a lame reason to get exiled. but, manga says it too. Has to be more to it than that. Maybe he helped the vizard captains hide by giving them the gigai.

I watched that ep last night also. But I just thought of something that maybe totally strange but, Remember Urahara said to ichigo's dad. Did you get your powers back? So maybe his power was drained when he left Soul Society because he used one of Urahara body that he made so he could marry a woman who was alive. Well that was just a theory. Maybe not a good one but at least it seems like it can happen.

Well I'm sure they couldn't reveal the full reason why Urahara was released, such as helping the Vizards escape and what not, or it wouldn't be a surprise as we learn throughout the story. That's probably one of their long-lasting stories as apart of Bleach; why Urahara left.

He's actually something in Bleach more annoying than Kon or the stupid "Bount detectors", and that's saying a lot.
