No, I'm pretty sure they just mirror her, one slightly ahead of her swing, and one slightly behind. They only attack what Yachira attacks, so it just gives her a bit of extra range, and maybe power if 2-3 blades hit the same foe.

Which I would say is actually quite different than Dogmans. Only relation to the two is that theres a secondary force at work when they attack. Dogmans is more about his brute raw force and has quite a drawback in exchange, and Yachiru's is more about accuracy or deception of the senses in a much less complex Aisen sort of way, hitting things the target fully believes they've avoided.
Either way, I'm going to reread it to see...
Yah, her movements are being copied, one ahead of her, one behind her, but then she states anything within her line of vision will be hit, even if she misses it. I can't imagine this is simply because of the copied movements but it could be bad translation.
This is a fight that I would love to see animated. Yachiru's VA would be so good at pulling off "cute psycho"
would expect no less from BG. Bitches gotta bitch
Loving this chapter
Her zanpakuto is awesome I don't care what anybody says! XD Also, did you notice she first used it's power without calling it's name..
you do realize a lot of the higher level characters do the same, right?
another thing that nobody else pointed out; her first response was to start throwing haymakers. Jesus christ, her and Ken-chan are so fucking OG
I concur.
It is correct that being able to release the sword without name or command is normally a sign of having achieved Bankai. I believe we first learn this when Renji gets punked by Byakuya; when Nii-sama notices that Renji released Zabimaru without a command, he says something about how it means Renji has reached Bankai.
But you're right that it's possible she simply has a permanently released sword like Zaraki and Ichigo. That would make a lot of sense with her specific power.
It would be more accurate to say that Kenpachi has (had) a never-released sword, as until recently he never knew its name. Knowing, but not having to say its name to release it has been said to be a sign of bankai or near-bankai status. The knowing is the key part.
I have to agree with him though, the sword copying her move is exactly what the mangastream translation says.
Spoiler: show
Were there any other people with full-time shikai besides ichigo and kenpachi?
The only two as far as I can recall.
