    i dont know why people are so quick to him using bankai, when he's truly never used his shikai. I'm more interested in getting to know his zanpaktou.

    I figure Ken's going to struggle with a fight for once, even if only a little bit, since his weapon and him only just got to know each other and the old way of fighting is something Unohana beat out of him.

    And Ichigo barely explained the "OUR POWERS COMBINED" part during their fight from the soul society arc like 10 years ago. That being said, I'm confident Ken is going to be a key player in more than one battle. We don't have to see his bankai here, and probably won't. It may take a few weeks but he'll roll this guy; lacking imagination is his obvious trump card.

    I think we're all neglecting the very real possibility that within this Quincy's range all imagination can become reality; and that Yachiru began to imagine that Kenpachi would show up and own shit. Hence why he still has the eyepatch and his sword appears tattered - it's the last (only?) way Yachiru has ever seen Kenpachi.
    Honestly, I'm hoping this is it. That Yachiru just imagined Kenpachi showing up.

    I mean it'd be a whole lot of hilarity to have this guy beaten by an imaginary Kenpachi conjured up by Yachiru.

    On the one hand, it would be awesome. But at the same time, I would love to see what else Yachiru could imagine. After the line about cookies, I was almost expecting candy to start raining from the sky, and her ignoring her opponent in order to eat.

    What's this "inheriting the name" deal? Didn't he already kill the previous Kenpachi before the start of the series to become the captain of the 11th squad and earning him the title? Or was he not "Kenpachi" enough with the presence of a previous Kenpachi?

    to be precise, the original never STOPPED being the actual Kenpachi, the strongest of them all; she simply stopped murdering and went to healing, to atone for her sins. She was technically never defeated by another shinigami for the title to be passed. Whoever the next "Kenpachi" was clearly wasn't nearly as strong as her, and if you apply logic, wasn't nearly as strong as Zaraki to begin with. Of course, only the oldheads and the person that DID beat her would know that.

    Again, the lt of that division would probably know about the captain's true abilities, and therefore would know the the title never legitimately passed.
