It is raining on my job site and reread the chapter. So he made the same cut, horizontal, with the smaller blade each time for Tenshou then the vertical cut, cross blade, was made by the sword with the hole in it for his new attack. Going to be interesting if each sword has a different type of ability, even though him using Getsuga with both swords points to it not being this way. But wasn't it mentioned that one was more Quincy and the other was more shinigami? I forgot

In terms of design inspiration, yes, and I believe we assumed each one represented a different part of him, but I don't think it has been explicitly said one way or another. I think Ichigo got his new swords forged (we saw him from the back holding them), and then we didn't see him again till he was ready to leave the Spirit King's palace.

It was a panel flat-out depicting one sword shinigami and the other sword quincy. Getsuga being the base for both is not necessarily counter-intuitive to this since it's safe to assume Ichigo is more in tune at this point with his shinigami blood.

The entire time he was never actually attacking her, he was putting in just enough effort to negate all her attacks. I doubt Ichigo even wanted to hit her with that technique, but she was just too stupid to evade until the last second.

The fact that he tells her to dodge speaks volumes for the amount of intent behind the attack. I'm sure he could have cleaved her in two if that was what he'd wanted to do, given all the power-ups he's seen since Aizen.

It looked like Bach's Key signal just signaled the other Quincies to go attack Ichigo. Was that not its purpose? Doesn't he just "become one" with the other quinces after they die and give him back their borrowed power?

Or is he talking about other sons? Another key? Perhaps opening the gate to the Palace world?

There's definitely going to be some kind of plotkai next chapter. No way in hell Ichigo handles all 8 Quincies with everyone else struggling for dear life. Even Kenpachi had trouble with just one, then 4.

Given Ichigo's desire to not actually hurt the girl, it would also evoke some empathy from him as the big bad just suddenly betrayed his own subordinates by weakening/killing them. Still doesn't really explain Uuryu's role, though.

Gin at least did shady shit with Aizen. Right now, all Uuryu's done with Bach is kind of stand around and do some ceremony which was probably just touching naughty bits behind closed doors, which might be the only thing that prevents his powers getting sucked out.

Unless he can selectively retrieve his power at will from whoever he wants? I'm not sure the extent of his power with this. Some panels have suggested that the person must die for their borrowed power to return. The earlier ones had him doing a ceremony to retrieve power (from Ichigo's mother).

And I doubt this story is just going to end with a showdown between Ichigo and Bach in the Soul Society.. We have a ton of other characters to see. We haven't really even gotten to the Soul King yet. We've opened the door to the fact that the elite palace guards all seemed to have sacrificed a city to get their palace access..

I'm hoping this takes a more interesting turn soon. And hoping we at least get to see the full extent of Ichigo's power up before the next plot kai.

To be fair, the person Kenpachi fought had a rediculous power that was considered one of the top tier on the Quincy side. I believe Ichigo can take on all 8 no problem. We still have major people to go.

That aspect of her crept the hell out of me. She was asked to fantasize her ideal reward, but what we saw (total darkness) isn't what she desired most. When prompted to think of something, her mind was just a completely empty void; it's like there wasn't thought taking place. Is her brain alive? Is she undead, like her namesake implies? She couldn't have gotten that way on her own; was she therefore engineered by someone? Cleavering her in half hasn't harmed her. Begs a lot of ridiculous questions. She's a very interesting character. She also makes a funny face.

If Ichigo doesn't just completely disintegrate her with getsuga, I feel she'll be the toughest of the four to eliminate.
