Plot twist: the king is actually the love in their hearts. Metaphorical king.

Also, Renji has been dropping those verbal elbows for this entire arc. All that gold during his battle with the Super Star, then he turns around and says, "I don't talk just to hear the sound of my own voice, so don't make me repeat myself."
Ice cold.
Yeah, it was pretty clear the others left a lot earlier than Ichigo did and didn't require a shortcut.
Was Bach resting or incapacitated when Rukia, Renji and Byakuya came back? Isn't that when 2nd in commond threatened Uryuu? Makes sense why he didn't notice or care when those 3 came back. Not one of the 5 war powers either.
Rukia, Renji, and probably Byakuya were sent down with the Tenchuuren (that pillar thing they rode to get up there), but it wasn't back yet as they were still travelling, so Ichigo had to go manually.
Ichigo is likely the only one with the special clothes on.
Dunno what's more dumb at the moment, Kaguya in Naruto, or this plotkai in Bleach.
You'd think Juha would go in and wreck shit like a fucking boss, but he's just a run of the mill, pussy made nigga.
I seriously hope Bach gets there and Aizen is sitting on the throne. At this point it's the only thing I won't get angry at.
DIDN'T YOU KNOW IT TAKES 6000 SECONDS TO CLOSE THANKS DUDE WE SAID WE WANTED SOUL SOCIETY BUT ACTUALLY GOING TO ROYAL PALACE NOW THX
He waited for Ichigo to come because that is when the Kings place is the most vulnerable. Seeing how Ichigo is the chosen one.
Not hard to understand, at all.
Yeah he totally knew Ichigo would reflect his attack on the first invasion with a quincy ability and go to the royal palace to be healed and then given the key to get into the palace and then come back only to leave the gate open for precisely 6000 seconds aizen aizen aizen aizen.
No one is having trouble understanding anything.
Well, to be fair, his original plan could have been to annihilate the Soul Society until the Zero Division was forced to come down, then use their entrance to move to the Soul Palace. Ichigo's survival of the first attack and the resultant training of the 5 SS members just altered their entrance plan a bit.
I'm still going with the Soul King and Zero Squad ultimately being the bad guys here. Souls naturally reincarnating throughout time until the Soul King figured out how to filter souls into the SS, creating an un-natural process which also had the side effect of having hollows manifesting.
Only problem is, they'll have a hard time painting Bach as a sympathetic villain since he's responsible for Ichigo's mom's death. Though ultimately I think it will be the Soul King who kills Bach, and Ichigo who defeats the Soul King, ending the diversion of souls to the Soul Society and removing Ichigo's ability to go home.
The sad thing is that's probably what will happen. This looks like the Bount arc reskinned.
Still rooting for Aizen.
I'm just upset that Alarial came up with the idea that seems to be most (lol) logical. God bless titties
I thought that was everyone's assumption for awhile haha. We've known Soul King was gonna be the big bad (or at least could have guessed) ever since the end of Aizen.
Well ya, I think everyone understands that. The only real questions are:
1. Did the Soul King come from our realm? (Was he just a spiritually powerful earthling that learned to travel between the realms). Did he come from the Soul Society and find our world and decide to start his diversion of souls?
2. What was the need for them to create/move to the palace area? Just for added defense? Just a huge amount of spirit energy/barrier to keep them invulnerable (and thus you need the spirit keys to get in). Each of the zero squad seems to have sacrificed a town to get their spirit key.
3. Can the spirit king come and go? (Is it going to be someone we've met?). I'd be surprised if the king is some strange face we've never seen.
4. What is the mechanism the King used to divert the souls (if that's what he did)? Is it the creation of the Dangai? Has the Dangai dimension always separated our realms and the Soul King merely found a way to link our dimensions?
My hypothesis:
The Soul King was a scientist in the Soul Society who figured out how to travel to different dimensions. Each dimension was originally separate from each other and when a being died in that dimension, it was reincarnated (energy spread back into that dimension). Hence, most everyone lived the same amount of time and there weren't massive power differences and life span differences.
Upon discovering our world, the Spirit King devised a plan to divert our world's souls to the Spirit Realm (by placing a barrier on our dimension that blocked automatic reincarnation?). Our spirit energy then began filtering into the Soul Society, causing the soul society residents to become more powerful and live longer (but not evenly?).
The barrier preventing our automatic re-incarnation also had the side effect of allowing some of the blocked souls to manifest into hollows. This presented a tactical problem, so the Soul King's goons (zero squad) created the Zanpaktos and other measures to fight the new spiritual force (and help subdue the Soul Society).
After a while, and for a reason we haven't quite determined, the Soul king and Zero squad sacrificed a lot of souls to move to a more secure palace location, to continue feeding off the soul siphoning and live forever.
Just a heads up for #3
