Oh he is there. It's just that stabbing really doesn't bother him much, for his body is made of spirit particles that just move around to allow the sword to move through him. Only the hogyoku can kill him. Cue Aizen.

To me at least it implied heavy off screening by simply looking at 1 character, Hikufune. Last time we saw her she was a BBW, but now she is seemingly armless as well as in Tig Ol Bitty form.

Nah I don't think her arm's off, it's just the way she's laying. And I wonder if Ichibei can revive the others?

Also, he made a point about not worrying about killing Bach, which was odd. It didn't come off as that Ichigo couldn't, just that he didn't have to.

Yeah, I can see that now lol. I also took what Ichi said in the sense that it's known that he's part Quincy and in some respects has established a sort of relationship with Bach a la old school Zangetsu.

*Random Speculation* Hell, you could say killing Aizen wasn't even necessary and to the best of my memory not a single person ever said to kill him (maybe Hitsu in his moments of revenge?). I doubt it was even implied as well. To that point, even the final thing that brought him wasn't designed to kill but restrain. It makes me think that the Shinigami have such a high benevolence for life that with all their strength and power, it's more logical to them to imprison versus to simply kill beings with a life.
