Something I noticed while re-reading the chapter: It looks like Ichigo's dual swords is his bankai state. He only has the one gigantic one in this chapter. I was always curious if that was the case or not since it wasn't explicitly stated.

And Madara was fine. They even had to replace Lee with Gai to show how strong Madara was (Genin +8 gates > 7 Swordsmen of the Mist : Top Tier Jonin + 8 gates > ?!?!?! )

Those 3 (Chad, Lee, Gai) are my favorite characters across the 2 shows too.
