I thought the fight sequences in this week's anime were well done, especially Rukia's set. Was that a new music track they snuck in as well? Sad that there's no manga next week, but at least we'll see (part of) Ichigo's fight.

I didn't want to bring this in here before people had read the chapter, but nows a good time. I was reading some other forums momentarily (most of them are aweful and filled with fanboys saying OMG HITSUGAYA IS STRONGER THEN YOU THINK HE JUST WASNT EXPECTING ESPADA TO BE SO STRONG) and I don't read them too much, this thread actually has a lot more intelligent people to discuss with, that have better asumptions... anyway... One thing I saw come up actually was really really interesting regarding this chapter.

Yes Yamamoto owns, yes the espada might be strong enough alone to take on all the captains present... Yes the young one we all <3 cause he seems like a slacker had a more surprised look then the other espada but zomg hes so fast and might be #1 you never know...

But what about Orihime. This is what got to me. So far, Orihime has always been scared, always getting protected, always afraid to fight and avoids it... However right now she is standing up to Ulq, saying shes not afraid, basically her mind is stable and shes got her heart where it needs to be... but what if, because of this change in her, she finally steps it up and fucking destroys Ulq, or at least hurts him badly. She has a pretty strong shield power, plus her crazy healing ability, and there might be alot more and all, but what if she basically does what ichigo did when he said "I can't get hurt anymore" and completely blows up Ulq or something.

Far fetched I know, but we've seen this type of thing before. And for her to actually fight, maybe open up and release her actual spiritual power, she might be insanely strong. It doesn't look like Ichigo could reach her in time, and the way they are writing it, it looks like Ulq isn't willing to wait for someone else to show up and might just want to straight out kill her. So what we are left with are either, she dies, straight out, bye bye Orihime (omg but people don't die in bleach) or she faces him and surprises him and all of us... or, option #3, which is my other favorite option, the only one left that could step in I would think that might be closer than anyone else, Is Grimjow.

It's food for thought at least, and from what I've seen the most interesting and even likely scenario. We are due for a twist anyway.

If Orihime doesn't die and her powers do get stronger maybe she can reject Aizen's shikai. As it stands now I don't think anyone can go toe to toe with him. At least with that affect down that may give someone a fighting chance until he's forced to Bankai.

And you're right. She could be insanely powerful, but i guess we have to wait and see as to whether she will actually use it (instead of being annoying and crying in a corner Kuroksaki-kun, Kurosaki-kuuuuuun)
