Ahh yes, Hitsu-niican. I could argue his popularity has considerably waned considering how he got beat saved and then beat twice more only to be brought back as a "sudo trump card".

What we should be getting from him is a redemption type setting but that's been ambitiously hopeful. Besides what baddies are left for him to match up with?

By Hasch's very backstory he is anything BUT regular. Taking on the full power of Bach for the night. . . every night not including his own stand up face rolling?!

Plus, how much more worthy do you need to be when you've taken out a few members of the zero division (pre/post plot kai no jutsu) and more than have of the C-liners without them being able to do a thing about it? I'd say it's as perfect a time as any.

I don't know. I just consider him one of the top-tier characters as far as power. I thought the other captians would take out the Sternritters like Kurotsuchi did and Shunsui would move on to face Haschwalth. That seems like a natural progression to me. If you rememeber they had that little scene eariler in the manga that set it up like they would meet again.

Agreed. I'm sure they will meet again but it's the how that I'm curious about. At least to me, Kubo went out of his way to give "rematches" for this arc so it's more in a sense of "when and in what state" versus "will or will not".

Shinji/Soy Sauce Fon aren't going to amount to much. The heart of the cards tells me so. Forgot they were there until I reread the previous 4 chapters.

On the good guy side, we have Ichigo, Orihime, Chad, Urahara, Isshin, Yoruichi, Shunsui, Grimmjow, Soifon, Omaeda, Yushiro, Shinji, Renji, Byakuya, Ganju, Tsukishima, Ginjo, Riruka, Yukio, Giriko, Mayuri, Nanao, Ikkaki, and Yumichika battle ready, with Kenpachi and Ukitake possibly recovering at some point, and Aizen as a wild card.

On the bad guy side, we have Gerard, Askin, Lille, Uryu, Haschwalth, and Yhwach.

That's a huge disparity, so I'm thinking the speculation that the royal guard are going to turn evil is looking pretty likely at this point.
