Yeah but it was a giant snake. This guy is so massive no I have a hard time believing they're going to win unless they fight fire with fire. Aside from Komamura, Renji had the largest bankai I can recall (well, Mayuri's is massive too I guess...).

Of the people in play right now (so excluding Mayuri, Nemu, Shunsui and Nanao) and assuming Hisagi isn't dead, Shinji's bankai is probably best for this guy currently because screwing with his senses is likely to be pretty potent on somebody that size. Love and Kensei are MIA, Hisagi is MIA unless I'm forgetting something (I know Lille shot him, but there's no way he's dead), and Rangiku/Toshiro are in the field doing... something. Komamura and Tetsuzaimon are around and I don't think we've seen the last of Komamura (but I'd be all right with it if we have because his ;ast appearance was badass as fuck).

So I'm assuming Byakuya isn't going to blow his load on this guy because he's so goddamn popular that he has to be given one of the ultras. Rukia has already shown her stuff. Momo is useless. Shinji and Renji I think will play major roles in beating this guy.Hisagi may or may not appear here, but I kind of doubt it because I think Toshiro is the better "surprise" because of his connection to Momo. I think Renji is going to beat this current phase and Shinji will be important for whatever this guy's Vollstandig ends up being. He's gonna have probably three phases (giant being the first) like Lille.

As someone whom grows as per damage taken, this is probably your go to outside of a standing frozen pillar. We don't see any decapitation in bleach so that's out for now as well.
