So re-watching some old episodes, specifically Ichigo vs Byakuya. He says something really interesting, I'm paraphrasing here but it's "How could he achieve bankai? Only precedent to achieve bankai in such a short period is a child out of the great noble houses!" I know Kubo doesn't really foreshadow, but it's still cool nonetheless that Byakuya called it out so long ago.

I was gonna say something to the same effect. But then remembered that she had always been a cat. Was that decided from long ago? The cat's moodiness in relation to reiatsu type? If not, let's say this Askin guy was never a problem, what other use would such an unpredictable ability have?

This chapter only had one thing missing. A full front body shot of Yoruichi. It looked like she was wearing a reiatsu g-string so it should be ok. Notice how she was crouching the whole time or only showing her from behind.

Askin's vollstandigw/e will counter exactly that. That's Kubo's way of foreshadowing.

Other then that, Urahara's bankai better not be the perfect counter to Askin's new ability/form... Even though that seems to be how every fight has gone in the last 2 some years -_-

I'm pretty sure Urahara is Death incarnate. Think about it. He's been everywhere. At the beginning, he was able to easily push Ichigo out of his body and sever the soul chain. He figures things out instantly and can manipulate everything.

It may not necessarily be a counter so much as it is that Askin has no fucking clue what he's done.
