I was thinking maybe it also "restructured" abilities - i.e it would change the lethal dose ability to something else that's easier to handle?

I think the only way to combat it would be to separate him from it somehow. It can only restructure what it's touching, so you have to pull him outside its area of influence.

I think it probably could be very easy or very hard to beat depending on how fast it acts and exact area of influence and how much direction it requires. At one extreme it might be able to restructure any attack before it reaches him leading to Accelerator level invincibility. On the other it might take ongoing direction and some time so could probably beat it with continuous damaging attacks though might have to vary them as he'd probably be able to adapt or a single overwhelmingly powerful attack... of course you have to accomplish this while he is planning and scheming and destroyjng your plans

Also begs the question of how the hell Kisuke achieved full understanding of this thing in just 72 hours. Must have freaked the fuck out when he achieved the release and started ripping apart.

Urahara never went outside the death ball and the range of his bankai didn't seem to be that far so......... for it to 'restructure' the land around from such a far distance to lead Grimmy there makes no sense.

As far range hard to say. It might be the entirety of anything it touching. Or maybe anything that has been restructured so can extend in a line

Not being impenetrable meant he wasn't stuck inside it, nor was Grimmjow stuck outside it.

The only thing that we have to assume happened off-screen is Kisuke running into slain/poisoned to fuck Grimmjow, curing him, and telling him to wait for a window of opportunity to strike Askin.

My hang-up is how Grimmjow is able to touch Askin at all. Given their prior encounter and all the exposition blabbering about the capabilities of his vollständig, shouldn't he be entirely immune to Grimmjow's reishi?

Edit: ...or are we to understand that his reishi has changed now that he's attacking in his resurrección?

Also I feel like the more logical (lol) explanation is Kisuke's bankai made it to Grimmjow and restructured him.

The most likely possibility is that Grimmjow never damaged Askin, so Askin never developed an immunity to him. Grimmjow charged, got smacked with some poison coffee, then was down for the count.

I'm thinking something more just happens to be the exact specific thing to beat him.

Like somehow Grimmjow being able to launch purely physical attacks with no reishi to become immune to and that's why his powers and fighting primarily focus on increasing his physical stats

Then Askin will reveal he's changed his lethal dose of needing a heart to being able to survive without one...

This is what i got from it. You can enter the bubble, but you cannot exit it.
