Nah if you go a few chapters back she definitely had a release for that shikai and it even had a name.

I don't care for the logics of it all. Kubo may or may not explain it, but at very least you're right with Isane. Kubo planted the seed with it being unique through her. Didn't the zanpaktou filler strongly hinted at Yachiru too? I wanna say there was an episode where one of the zanpaktou spirits reacted weirdly to her, but to lazy to find out lol.
