Love how we've always compared Ichigo and Kenpachi's similarities, and his bankai turns out to be a strength version of Ichigo's speed. Quincy even mocks it in the same way Byakuya mocked Ichigo's.

It'll probably be explained in the next chapter. Easiest go to answer is probably Kenpachi having subconsciously achieved bankai long ago but for reasons yachiru stayed physically manifested.

Yachiru isn't his bankai, she's just a part of his spirit, which he purposeful split from himself to be less powerful (like Stark did). Now that she re-united with him (once he accepted/released his Shikai) she's just manifesting herself as a guide to walk him through the power he's been suppressing.

Yes, he did. In the previous page dude was starting to punch and Kenpachi opened his mouth. Then on the next page quincy viking had his arm ripped off and Kenny was standing in front of his fist. That's crazy.

I agree, just seems to be "just as speculative" as assuming she's his bankai/shikai. To me, it's just the answer that makes the most sense. We have precedence for it, more so than someone's bankai/shikai walking around on their own.

Agreed. It's one thing to leave a lot of things as inferred; however if you make the reader infer too much, your message becomes lost. There's too much gray area around Ken/Yachiru to speculate with any degree of certainty.

1. First thought was, "Is Kenny's bankai a Guttler?"
2. This is the least amount of exposition Kubo has done for a bankai reveal in... ever? Or at the least since the Quincy arc started. We're so used to immediate full disclosure, even a 1-issue gap between reveal and explaination feels odd.
