My worry is that reading it from start to finish, knowing all the twists, will make the earlier parts make no sense. Like, if we accept that we have never seen his Shinigami side, then how could he use Getsuga Tensho or the Final Getsuga as those come from his dad.

It's possible that the Final Getsuga is just an ability that you can get from your zanpakuto that comes in varying names and utilities. Or it's some Shiba bullshit and Isshin knows about it.

It's my interpretation that Shirosaki is White, the weird hollow Aizen set on Masaki. It merged with her, then merged with Ichigo's shinigami powers. His Quincy manifestation suppressed him.

I just don't see where the concept of Ichigo's Quincy powers being synonymous with his Hollow side come from. It's fairly clearly stated in the manga that Quincy!Zangetsu suppressed the "Hollow" (aka his Shinigami powers, too) to protect Ichigo. Shirosaki wasn't suppressing shit. He was being suppressed.



He comes out and says so right here, that "the Hollow" saved Ichigo's life, and he was suppressing it (along with his shinigami powers)

If Zangetsu was suppressing his Soul Reaper powers and supplying his own powers instead, it's not a stretch to think that whenever Ichigo used his mask it was being fueled, at least in part, by Zangetsu's (AKA Quincy) spirit energy.

And yeah, two horns would have looked better I think, but he probably would have looked way too similar to Ulquiorra's released state at that point.

Not really sure how being similar to Ulquiorra is a problem. It's exactly like his vasto lorde form except only on 1 side. Same exact shaped horn. Same eye color same black line down the face crossing the eye going down to the chest. Which is what White looked like before it fused with his mom

Zangetsu: The Shinigami powers he received from his father, who was once the head of one of the five Great Noble Families of Seriteri. Shirosaki greatly suppressed this power the entire franchise, as stated by Nimaiya, and re-enforced it with a Quincy/Hollow strength that mimicked Shinigamis. Thus the appearance of Ichigo's zanpaktou spirit looking like Ywach.

People like to say Ichigo has a 101 powers, but Aizen himself and Isshin's flashback made it a point to address the fact Ichigo's heritage is ridiculously unique. The big sword with the hole in it being the one imbued with his mothers strength is a beautiful touch to be honest.

EDIT: And before someone addresses the fact Nimaiya tells Ichigo to raise up those "two zangetsus" remember this, the Hichigo Shirosaki spirit is a completely fanmade name and it itself once stated it was nameless. Ichigo and Nimaiya naming them both Zangetsu was a symbolic gesture to the fact they both have always aided Ichigo as such.

Pretty sure Shirosaki/White represents Hollow + Shinigami; that's why Zangetsu (the one that looks like Ywach) says that whenever Ichigo needed to learn a power, it was the hollow that taught him.
