    I mean. I get it. I really do. It doesn't make it any less funny and OVERLY convenient. It also doesn't change the fact that there is nothing they can do.

    The sword has been the crux of the transformation for so long it's crazy. Few characters possess bankai that take a formless presence. Point is, Bach was so powerful he broke Ichigo's sword with 1 hand. Was. That was before he absorbed more power. He's stronger now. Where do you go from here.

    The situation with Aizen was telegraphed but this just says to me at least, "if I did it once I'll do it again".

    One of the minor "twists" in the Fullbringer arc was that he was actually changing the past (but only the past of the thing he cuts, even if that makes no sense whatsoever), and the characters were mistaken when they thought he was changing memories.

    Remember when he cut a block, and inserted into the past him putting a trap there? The trap materialized out of nowhere when he did that, because he literally changed the past of the block he cut.

    He likely either:

    1) Could not foresee the event happening because it never happened in "real time".

    or

    2) Had already seen the event, and thus allowed for Ichigo to have his Bankai revived through such a means.

    or

    3) Had been stabbed by Tsukishima in the past by Book of the End.

    Tsukishima had to have been reallllly convenient for Kubo to use at this juncture -- probably had this in mind for a very long time. He basically inserted a past into Ichigo that never happened... one in which Bach broke Ichigo's Bankai, but not through the future timeline-rewriting means. He then has Orihime reject that newly inserted past (rejecting the damage to his Bankai directly, in real time, due it it's "past" being rewritten by Tsukishima) so the weapon could be restored.

    I'm certain Kubo takes LSD now, lol. Who thinks of this shit in a manga?
